On the other hand, in the real world, Stephnie and Lily could not understand how they were supposed to help their friend Claire. Ever since Claire had made eye contact with Nicolas's wife, her behavior had become extremely erratic. Again and again, she reacted as if she were possessed. At times, she would suddenly sit up, only to lie back down moments later, and she kept insisting that Lily and Stephnie take her back to that haunted town—the very place they had struggled so hard to escape.
"Stephnie, what are we going to do now?" Lily said, looking at her. "I feel like Nicolas's wife has either cast some kind of spell on Claire or has taken control of her soul, which is why Claire still wants to go back to that haunted town we barely managed to get out of."
