Chapter 8 - 8 The Hidden Identity

"No, Baba,

this village is mine too. I was born here.

As for the Pradhan, I will talk to him myself.

I am going to meet the Pradhan and ask him for work."

"No, my son. If he finds out that you were once the Pradhan of this village, he might kill you. I don't want that to happen.

This village needs you."

"Baba, only ten or twelve people here recognize me.

The rest of the villagers don't know who I am. I'm just going to ask the Pradhan for work so that I can understand what is really happening in this village.

Only after that will I take any decision. I also want to know how powerful he really is.

Don't worry. Either I will correct him, or I will kill him."

After saying this, I left.

Within a short time, I reached my house—now the Pradhan's house.

As soon as I reached outside, I saw that the Pradhan had turned my old house into a very beautiful one.

It didn't feel like this was ever my house.

I felt curious to see it from inside and started moving toward the entrance.

Suddenly, a guard standing at the door stopped me and asked,

"Where are you going? What work do you have here?"

I replied,

"I want to meet the Pradhan Ji. I've come here looking for work.

I can do any work. I only need food in return."

After hearing this, the guard said,

"Wait here. I'll ask the master. Don't go anywhere."

The guard went inside and soon came back.

"Come with me. The master has called you."

I went inside the house.

The interior was beautifully built—it looked like a king's palace.

Then the Pradhan said,

"Come here. Who are you? I have never seen you in this village before."

I replied,

"Sir, I have come from another village. I am looking for work."

The Pradhan said,

"There is work. What kind of work can you do?"

I answered,

"Pradhan Ji, whatever work you give me, I will do it honestly."

"Alright," he said. "How much money will you take?"

"Whatever you give is fine, Pradhan Ji. Just give me food twice a day."

"Okay. I will pay you 100 rupees per day and provide food three times a day."

"Thank you very much, Pradhan Ji. You are very kind.

I will not disappoint you. I will work with full dedication and honesty."

The Pradhan then appointed me to work in his fields.

Later, he told me to grow sugarcane because many nearby villages did not cultivate sugarcane.

All the required materials for farming were arranged by the Pradhan himself.

The villagers believed that growing sugarcane in this village was very difficult.

The Pradhan also gave me an offer:

If the farming was successful, he would increase my payment from 100 rupees to 300 rupees per day.

After hearing this from the Pradhan, I felt very happy.

"Yes, Pradhan Ji. Please order all the materials that will be needed for farming in the field.

I will handle everything else myself."

"Alright," he said. "I will order everything and inform you."

"Yes, Pradhan Ji. Until then, I will finish the remaining work in the field."

"Okay. Do your work and then come home. I will arrange all the materials."

I went to the field and set fire to the dry grass.

The fire was so fierce that within a few seconds, all the grass was completely burned.

That fire was created by my own power.

It was formed from my energy.

Perhaps that is why it was so powerful.

After finishing my work, I returned.

By the next day, the Pradhan had ordered all the materials required for sugarcane farming.

Now, I only had to do my work.

The next day, I took all the materials and went to the field.

First, I filled the field with water and irrigated it properly so that the soil would become moist and soft.

After that, I cut the sugarcane into small pieces and began planting them in straight rows in the field.

Within a few hours, I planted all the sugarcane.

Next came the task of adding fertilizer, which I completed in about half an hour.

After finishing everything, I started doing the remaining small tasks in the field,

such as collecting small stones and leftover pieces of grass and throwing them outside.

Then I fenced the field on all four sides with wire so that no animals could enter.

By the time all this work was done, evening had arrived, so I headed back home.

The Pradhan had given me a small hut to live in.

I felt the Pradhan was not as bad as I had heard people say.

He did not seem that bad to me.

I don't know what the villagers had discovered that made them believe he was so cruel.

I continued working.

Within a few months, my sugarcane field became very successful.

Each sugarcane plant grew to about eight to ten feet tall.

I even tasted one sugarcane—it was very sweet and soft.

Seeing my hard work and dedication, the Pradhan kept his promise.

From that very month, he increased my payment to 300 rupees per day.

I felt very happy.

Now I could save money, and food was already being provided by the Pradhan.

Slowly, while working for the Pradhan, five years passed.

But during these five years, I became even more powerful.

Now I had so much power within me that I needed to take a blue-colored medicine to suppress it.

I had to prepare this medicine myself.

First, I cleaned neem leaves and dried them in the sunlight.

Then I mixed the extract of other medicinal herbs collected from the forest with the neem leaves and stored the mixture for some time.

All these wild medicinal herbs were extremely cooling in nature.

If a normal human consumed this medicine, they would die within a short time.

No ordinary person could digest this medicine.

One pill was enough for me, so I made only a single pill.

That one pill could keep my power sealed inside my heart for several years.
