"Young Master, are you alright? "
"I am."
"Are you sure? "
"Yes."
"Then… Would you like to go outside like you requested yesterday? "
"Ah. Right…"
I almost forgot about that. Good thing she remembered.
"Let's go."

Once Ye Hua was out of his room, a few servants who saw him greeted him. Xiao Mei had then led him to what he would call a living room in the modern age. He was then met with a man who looked a bit rough; he had scars on his arms, and he held a sword by his side.
A bodyguard perhaps?
Xiao Mei greeted the man; she then spoke to the man, leaving Ye Hua sitting by himself at a corner away from the two as he waited. The moment they were done talking, Ye Hua saw the man walking beside Xiao Mei; he had an irritated look on his face.
Well… he looks displeased. Did I not get along with him? There are a lot of servants in this place anyway. I doubt I know him… right?
"Young Master, this is—"
"Stop."
The man interrupted, stopping just in front of Ye Hua, his gaze that looked as if he were about to strike him suddenly softened into something in the lines of compassion.
Ah, what's with this guy? He looks like a puppy.
Even though the man was relatively taller than Ye Hua, he could not seem to give off the same intimidating aura as he did with Xiao Mei. The man stared for a short while until he suddenly bowed to Ye Hua.
How bothersome.
Ye Hua's face was surprisingly calm, and the man bowed himself. He had expected this kind of reaction when he saw the man's gaze towards him.
"Young Master, I'm sorry. I failed you. I should've protected you better. Please punish me as you see fit. If I had protected you properly, you wouldn't have gotten hurt and lost your memories. I am deeply ashamed and sorry. " The man's voice was soft, almost as if he were about to cry.
"Stand up. You don't need to apologize; it was an accident."
"Young Master, it was still my fault. I failed to protect you."
Well… I guess I found myself a loyal dog.
"Then you shall atone for your sins by staying by my side, continuing to protect me as I see fit."
"Young Master… You really…"
Was I too harsh? Haa… He really looks like a pouty dog.
"Just be as you've always been with me."
"Yes sir! "
The man finally lifts up his head, now looking at Ye Hua with a pure smile. It was clear the man was a loyal guard to the previous Ye Hua for him to act like this.
"Well then, please give me your name. As you've heard, I'm having trouble recalling my memories."
"Yes, of course! My name is ⁵Zhèn Wǔ, Young Master."
"I see. Thank you."
"Young Master, I will be accompanying you with Mei Lian."
"Very well."

Ye Hua had been roaming around the house for a while now; he was busy memorizing the details of where the places were. Xiao Mei and Zhen Wu had been diligently following him from behind; this caused the servants to look at him every time he was passing by. By this time, everyone knew that he had lost his memories; each time they had looked at him, it was filled with pity and worried looks.
Haa… this place is huge. All this staring is also starting to bother me. Can't they just mind their own business? Whatever. This is my new home now…
I still can't believe this is happening. Whatever, I'll manage. This is just temporary anyway. I'll be able to go back once I find out how this all happened.
"Young Master, you've been roaming for a while now; I think you should rest. You're still recovering and shocking yourself by trying to remember everything won't be good for your body. Please rest."
"There are still a few places left, like the library and the garden, no? Shouldn't I be working hard to remember? "
Not that I would remember; I just need to look for clues right now. Well… not that they would know anyway. I can't exactly say what happened to them. They'll probably think I've gone crazy if I did.
Ye Hua continued on. By the time he was finished, he was called to the dining hall to eat with his mother and father. Ye Hua sat down; the two that were following him stood behind his chair as he waited for the food to be served. As they served the plates of food, Ye Hua couldn't help but feel an awkward tension in the room. He wanted to eat and get out of there as soon as he could.
"Ye Hua, how do you feel? "
"Fine."
"Is that any way to talk to your mother? "
Leave me alone, old man. I wasn't being disrespectful; I mean, at least I answered her question.
"Did something happen? Where is uh—my sister."
Fuck, I forgot to ask about her name.
"She is out right now, dear."
Well, it's not like it's my business.
Both parents stared at Ye Hua, expecting him to keep the conversation flowing; however, Ye Hua did not do so, only adding to the awkward atmosphere. The silence grew as they ate, making the tension grow even more. Ye Hua had finished his food silently; as soon as he was done, he left the room, leaving the two behind.
I'm finally out of that suffocating dining hall.
Ye Hua had gone back to his chambers, for a while he sat down and lazed around. He was doing nothing but sitting and staring at random places; he had the whole afternoon to rest after all. The two that followed him were worried; however, no one had bothered to do anything about it since he wasn't harmed. The three of them stayed in his room, there was a somewhat comfortable yet awkward silence within the three.
Well, I guess this is not so bad. I'm not being lazy; I'm merely recovering my strength. Though I have to get used to the two of them following me everywhere. Haa… who am I kidding? What am I even doing? I'm bored out of my mind. I don't even know what to do.
