Chapter 104 - World Conference

Raiden Mei: "Mobius, do you understand magic?"

Elysia raised her hand. "My dear Mei, you can ask me about magic! I understand magic."

Mobius: "She does know more about magic than I do."

Fine.

Raiden Mei looked at Elysia and asked, "What level would the person who created that dragon roughly be at?"

Elysia tilted her head and thought for a moment. "That dragon is around level 80 overall, with defense reaching about level 90. The creator is at least level 50, proficient in necromancy, rune inscriptions, and enhancement magic. It's very likely her."

"Her?"

"Satou Matsuzaka. A beautiful pink-haired girl who gives me a slightly scary feeling."

Elysia had interacted with Satou Matsuzaka before. On the surface, she seemed no different from an ordinary girl.

But her intuition told her that being liked by that girl would be troublesome.

"Scary? Even you find her scary?" Mobius revealed a playful smile.

"Mobius, that girl is a severely yandere type."

Elysia reminded her. Being liked by a possessive yandere girl meant you might not be able to get close to other girls in the future.

A severely yandere girl would stop at nothing to drive away anyone around the person she liked. She couldn't tolerate the existence of others.

Too scary!

Mei and Mobius were both broad-minded girls. As long as you got familiar with them, you could happily hang out together.

"Hmph. What's so scary about a yandere?"

Mobius snorted coldly.

"Mobius, why don't you try dating her and experience it for yourself?"

"Not interested."

"Alright, Elysia, we're still discussing serious matters here," Raiden Mei interrupted their conversation. "The bone dragon has been dealt with, but the undead created from the humans it killed are still rampaging in Tokyo."

"If I remember correctly, when large numbers of undead gather, there's a high probability that more advanced undead will be born."

"That's right."

"Then go arrange for the undead to be cleared."

"Huh? Why me?"

"Didn't you say you understand magic the best? Then it's only natural for you to handle it."

"Mei, I don't want to..."

"When I have time, I can satisfy some of your not-too-excessive requests."

"Mission guaranteed."

With a hint of excitement, Elysia set off to clear the undead in Tokyo.

"Mobius." Raiden Mei looked at her. "On the human side of this world, will you handle it, or should I?"

"You go. The Moonlight Throne and Aharato are already exposed. I'll prepare a few more trump cards."

It was the first time she was fighting a faction war against seniors and juniors from the same academy. Mobius didn't know what trump cards or strategies the other side might have.

In previous exams, she had fought plenty of one-on-one matches and small team melees. This was her first faction war.

The more people involved, the more variables there were.

She needed more backup plans.

"Alright. I'll handle the human side."

Raiden Mei nodded. With their current technological progress, they could already press the armies of various nations into the ground.

In that case, it was only reasonable for her to collect some military funding from them.

Soon, various nations received invitation letters.

The prime ministers and presidents of each country opened letters that had appeared beside them.

To them, the sudden appearance of the letters was a naked threat. If someone could place a letter beside them, they could just as easily kill them.

Tokyo.

After the bone dragon incident, most areas of the city had become ruins. The Self-Defense Forces followed behind the Titan mech units, clearing out the remaining undead in the city.

Without the bone dragon's presence, the large number of undead in the city were quickly eliminated.

Under military escort, the Far East Prime Minister rode in a special vehicle to the headquarters building of Massive Electric Agency.

He had never imagined that the world-famous multinational electronics manufacturer Massive Electric Agency would be the property of a god.

Before coming, he had people investigate Massive Electric Agency. No matter how they looked into it, the company appeared to be nothing more than a high-end smartphone manufacturer, a new-energy vehicle producer, and an aerospace technology enterprise.

Perfectly ordinary. Nothing suspicious at all.

The Far East Prime Minister, along with the chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, stepped out of their vehicles. Just as they were about to enter the building, they were blocked by an invisible barrier.

The bodyguards tensed and raised their guns in alert.

The Prime Minister reached out and touched the transparent, unseen barrier before him.

With such advanced technology, it proved they had come to the right place.

The next second, the barrier vanished.

Suppressing their excitement and curiosity, they walked into the Massive Electric Agency building.

What greeted their eyes was a reactor emitting a blue glow, currently in operation.

A scientist who had come along froze on the spot upon seeing the blue-glowing reactor.

"Th-this... could this be a cold fusion reactor?"

Everyone turned to look at the visibly excited scientist.

"Is cold fusion that impressive?" someone asked.

"Impressive? Of course it is! This is technology beyond controllable nuclear fusion. It breaks through the limitations of high temperature and high pressure to achieve cold fusion, without producing excess heat."

The scientist subconsciously walked toward the cold fusion reactor, wanting to take a closer look at this technological miracle.

Humanity hadn't even achieved controllable nuclear fusion yet, and this place was already using cold fusion technology.

"Ahem."

Seeing the scientist seemingly entranced and moving forward, the Far East Prime Minister gave a look to two nearby bodyguards.

The two men in suits quickly stepped forward and grabbed the scientist from both sides.

Although this was the Far East, this place clearly did not fall under their jurisdiction.

He couldn't understand why Massive Electric Agency had never been exposed. The cold fusion reactor was placed right where it could be seen from the entrance.

Even without understanding advanced technology, he could tell at first glance that it was extraordinary.

Yet no one had ever known.

How many secrets was Massive Electric Agency hiding?

At that moment, a soldier clad entirely in black powered armor and holding a firearm approached.

"Welcome to Massive Electric Agency. I am security here. Please state your purpose."

You... security?

Everyone looked at the guard wearing unknown powered armor and carrying what was likely an energy weapon.

The Far East Prime Minister said solemnly, "We received your invitation and have come for talks."

The guard nodded slightly. "Follow me."

They followed the guard through a long corridor, surrounded by the glow of various high-tech devices.

Eventually, they were brought to a massive conference room.

"Please wait here. The others have not arrived yet."

"Alright. Thank you for your hard work."

The Far East Prime Minister bowed to the guard in gratitude.

After the guard left, they took their seats. The conference room was arranged similarly to a United Nations assembly.

They quickly found their respective seats.

Looking at the many empty seats around them, they knew they had arrived early.

There was a reason for that.

If they could contact the mysterious upper management of Massive Electric Agency earlier and reach some private cooperation agreements, they might soar to new heights.

After waiting for a while, representatives from other nations arrived one after another. Seeing the layout of the conference room, they instinctively took their assigned seats.

"Do you feel like the space here is a bit strange?"

"What do you mean?"

"We've all seen the building area of Massive Electric Agency. It's not large. But the space of this conference room, plus the outer areas, clearly exceeds the building's dimensions."

"You mean spatial technology?"

They whispered among themselves.

Once all representatives had arrived, Raiden Mei's figure appeared at the central position.

"Everyone, I am Raiden Mei, President of Massive Electric Agency."

As the person behind Massive Electric Agency revealed herself, the representatives of various nations stirred.

The representative of the Western superpower was the first to speak. "Miss Raiden Mei, I would like to ask—are you a god of our world?"

"That depends on how you define the concept of a god. If you mean an omniscient and omnipotent being like God, then I'm sorry, I am not. You may regard me as a higher lifeform evolved from humans."

The representative of the northern nation asked, "You are human?"

"I used to be."

The Western representative said, "So that means you're no longer human now. Am I correct?"

"Chimpanzees and humans share a common ancestor. Do you equate yourselves with chimpanzees?"

Raiden Mei replied calmly.

"Of course, if you want to equate yourselves, that's fine. In our eyes, ordinary species transformation is nothing more than a simple matter."

"For example, you could become a chimpanzee right now."

As soon as she finished speaking, the Western representative transformed from a human into a black-furred chimpanzee, pounding his chest with both fists.

The people around him instinctively stood up and distanced themselves.

The Far East Prime Minister watched in shock. A single sentence had changed a person's species.

"Change back."

The Western representative returned to human form.

Recalling the experience just now, he took a deep breath.

"Do you have any more questions?"

"N-no more."

The Western representative hurriedly shook his head.

"Back to the main topic. You all understand why I invited you here."

The representative of the northern nation said, "The invasion from the other world."

"Yes. In your eyes, the nations of the other world are insignificant. And that is indeed true—but only on the premise that the higher lifeforms of that world do not intervene."

"If they attack with full force, not only you—even we do not have absolute confidence in victory."

The representative from the eastern nation asked, "Why are you fighting them?"

Raiden Mei replied, "Just as you seek to seize each other's resources, we are competing for authority."

The Western representative asked, "What is authority?"

"You may understand it as divine authority—the power of a god."

The representative of the northern nation said, "May I ask what your authority is? Of course, you don't have to answer."

"My authority is no secret. It is simply the free manipulation of electromagnetic fields."

Simply?

That was an absurdly powerful authority!

Everyone felt she was deliberately showing off.

The representative from the eastern nation said, "So you're fighting because of authority."

"Not entirely. We know them. We are fighting only because those above us want to fight."

The northern representative asked, "What do you mean by those above you?"

"One is the Magic Goddess who represents mysterious idealism. The other is the Goddess of Truth who represents technological materialism."

Raiden Mei fabricated a story based on her world's identity background.

Mysterious idealism.

Technological materialism.

No wonder the two worlds were so different.

"You should all understand the situation in the other world. It is similar to our world's medieval era. The Self-Defense Forces of the Far East could easily crush the human nations over there."

"Am I right?"

Raiden Mei looked at the Far East Prime Minister.

He nodded. "Yes. Their weapons are still cold weapons. Even though their average physical condition is stronger than ours, they are no match for us."

Raiden Mei continued, "But you were driven back. And you were nearly wiped out by a bone dragon casually created by the other side."

"..."

The Far East Prime Minister fell silent.

"In terms of overall combat power, the higher lifeforms of the other world account for at least ninety-nine point nine percent of it."

The northern representative asked curiously, "What percentage of combat power do we account for in this world?"

Everyone looked at him speechlessly.

How could you even ask that? If it were the same as the other world, wouldn't that make us utterly useless?

The northern representative felt slightly embarrassed, but the words had already left his mouth.

"Stronger than the human nations of the other world."

Raiden Mei smiled faintly without elaborating.

The Far East Prime Minister said, "May I ask a question?"

"You may."

He asked, "Why didn't you guard the gate directly like the otherworld goddess? Instead, you allowed that dragon to come and kill so many of our people."

Raiden Mei crossed her arms and countered, "Then I would also like to know—why didn't they guard the gate from the start? Why did they allow your Self-Defense Forces to slaughter the armies of the otherworld nations?"

Everyone understood her meaning.

In the eyes of gods, both they and the human armies of the other world were merely insignificant chess pieces.

"You are aware of the resurrection magic of the other world, correct? We possess similar technology."

Raiden Mei continued, "Even if humanity in this world were to perish, we could freeze time and restart the world—as long as we have not lost."

The representatives of various nations showed expressions of shock.

Freeze time. Restart the world.

They were that powerful?

The representative from the eastern nation reacted quickly. "Wait. Why are you telling us such top-secret information that concerns the survival of the entire world? And has our world been restarted before? How many times?"

"I'm telling you because the other side already knows. You're the only ones who don't. As for whether the world has been restarted before, and how many times—that is not important."

"..."

That was clearly very important.

They desperately wanted to know how time was frozen, how the world was restarted, and how many times it had happened.

But since Raiden Mei did not intend to answer, they did not dare press further.

"According to the latest report from Massive Electric Agency's observation center, the other world may have found a way to prevent us from restarting the world. They have secretly made various preparations to invade our world. The bone dragon this time was merely a high-level disposable pawn sent to test us."

"I must remind you—do not underestimate them. To put it bluntly, many of you probably understand less about technology than the magic users of the other world understand about it. The nuclear weapons you are so proud of are nothing more than slightly larger firecrackers in their eyes."

"This is a war between two different civilizations—a war between magic and technology. It is not a scenario where modern technology crushes backward otherworld natives. You are free to remain neutral."

"As long as you can bear the consequences of doing so."

"Someone once told me a sentence. Do you know what it was?"

Raiden Mei's gaze turned sharp.

"She said: Destroying you has nothing to do with you."
