Chapter 53 - Mushoku Kika

Before crossing over, Kiana Kaslana had seen Vita's videos while browsing on video sites.

At the first glance of Vita, her first reaction was—Su, why did you become a girl!

Although she hadn't played Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2, she had still watched many of its story videos in her usual browsing, so she knew quite a bit about its content.

Kiana Kaslana wanted both Sa and Vita simply because she thought they were capable in all aspects.

They could be brought back as secretaries.

She was just a slightly experienced newbie Will of Ruler, not wanting to overwork herself—only to enjoy things leisurely.

Her daily routine consisted of observing the Honkai Impact 3rd world, the Sea of Quanta, and the bubble worlds.

After searching for a long time—

Kiana Kaslana still couldn't find any trace of Sa or Vita.

Why can't I find them anywhere!

Stopping her observation, she frowned.

Do I need to send someone into the sea to find Vita?

After thinking about it for a moment, Kiana Kaslana gave up that idea.

Let it be!

After all, she had plenty of time.

She continued developing her abilities and mysterious powers in the Hell Girl world.

Honkai Impact 3rd world, Fleet of Fog world, Highschool of the Dead world, Hell Girl world—

Only in the Hell Girl world was the idealistic power the most apparent, and also the most compatible with her Honkai energy.

Rather than improving herself through science and technology, Kiana Kaslana preferred idealistic power.

...

Hell Girl world.

Academy City.

Cathedral.

At this moment, a baptismal ceremony was taking place.

Incarnation stood by, holding a white scepter, watching three girls immersed in a pool of Honkai energy-infused water.

Among the three, one black-haired girl caught her attention for how quickly she absorbed the Honkai energy.

"Such excellent talent."

With a thought, a virtual light screen appeared before her, displaying the girl's detailed information.

Mushoku Kika.

Age: fourteen.

Born into an ancient family from the Far East—an exorcist clan of great renown.

Specializes in using ranged weapons for ultra-long-distance precision sniping.

Holder of the academy's long-range shooting record.

Capable of hitting a target eight hundred miles away in a single shot, using controllable, ultra-high-speed nanobullets that can curve midair to strike fast-moving targets with pinpoint accuracy.

Note: This student possesses exceptional shooting talent but is extremely weak in close combat.

Incarnation examined the data. An ancient exorcist family—quite similar to the sisters Shiryo Tora Ryo and Kuroka Tora Ryo.

"Lady Kiana will probably like this child," Incarnation thought, a faint smile curling her lips.

At that moment, Mushoku Kika rose from the pool. She felt her body brimming with power, yet a strange sensation welled within her.

Not enough!

She felt she could almost become a pseudo-Herrscher.

In Academy City, Kiana Kaslana had created a simple hierarchy—from lowest to highest: Stigmata User, Pseudo-Herrscher, Complete Herrscher, Transcendent Herrscher, Fallen Herrscher, and Final Herrscher.

Simplified further, from Level 1 to Level 6.

A total of six levels.

Normally, Stigmata Users couldn't reach the Pseudo-Herrscher stage on their own unless they had exceptional talent, because evolution required a high concentration of Honkai energy.

If Stigmata Users could still be considered human, then Pseudo-Herrschers were already half-gods.

However, Kiana Kaslana didn't want the world's spiritualists gaining access to her Honkai energy and evolving uncontrollably.

Thus, the global concentration of Honkai energy was deliberately kept low. Even existing Honkai energy naturally flowed toward Academy City. The outside world lacked the conditions for anyone to evolve into a Pseudo-Herrscher.

The cathedral's Honkai Evolution Pool could enhance a Stigmata User's Honkai energy, bringing them closer to the Pseudo-Herrscher stage.

Of course—

Beyond the planet, in outer space, Honkai energy concentration was incredibly high. Especially on the Moon, which connected two universes—the abundance of Honkai energy there was enough to mass-produce Herrschers.

However, humanity in this world had yet to develop the technology to send people into space. Moreover, Kiana Kaslana strictly forbade ordinary humans from venturing into the cosmos.

Incarnation walked up to Mushoku Kika with a smile. "Come with me, I have something to discuss with you privately."

Mushoku Kika followed Incarnation into a clean, brightly lit room. After sitting down, Incarnation looked at her and asked softly, "How do you feel?"

"I'm still not good enough."

Mushoku Kika lowered her head in thought, then asked, "Your Holiness Incarnation, what must I do to become a Pseudo-Herrscher?"

Her family was in decline.

If she could become a Pseudo-Herrscher, everything would change.

"That depends on your performance."

"I've already sent the information to your phone."

Incarnation smiled faintly and skillfully sent her the data on how to quickly achieve Pseudo-Herrscher status.

Mushoku Kika opened her phone and carefully read the contents.

She froze completely.

Isn't this the forbidden text secretly circulating in the academy?!

"What's wrong?"

"N-nothing, um, Lady Incarnation, are you sure you didn't send the wrong file?"

Incarnation seemed to read her mind and said slowly, "No, this is the fastest method."

"Among the three Angelic Ladies, you can choose one. Then I'll send you to her side."

"After that, everything will depend on you."

Mushoku Kika bowed her head, thinking silently.

After a moment, she took a deep breath and lifted her head to meet Incarnation's eyes. "I understand."

Having made her decision, she asked, "When can I go?"

Incarnation replied, "Anytime—but make sure you're prepared beforehand."

"Alright."

Mushoku Kika nodded to show she understood.

Afterward, Incarnation personally taught her several techniques related to Honkai energy control and the necessary theoretical knowledge.

By the time Mushoku Kika returned from the cathedral to her dormitory, night had already fallen.

"I'm back."

She slumped onto the sofa as soon as she entered. After sitting there for a while, she turned toward a closed door in the room.

Her dorm was a two-bedroom unit—meaning she shared it with one other person.

"Aisha hasn't logged out of that world yet?"

Mushoku Kika picked up some snacks from the table, opened the bag, and began eating.

What's so fun about that world full of disgusting corpse monsters!

Why is Aisha so addicted to it!

Thinking of that girl named Kiana, Mushoku Kika couldn't help but feel worried about her roommate.

When she and Aisha first logged into that world and tried forming a team, they realized they needed three members, so they invited a beautiful stranger named Kiana to join them.

Later, disgusted by the zombies and the environment, Mushoku Kika had logged out of that world.

She hadn't gone back to play since.

Mushoku Kika munched on snacks while scrolling through videos on her phone. Unlike the networks of other modernized worlds, full of fake ads and garbage news, the Academy City network was relatively isolated from the outside world. Its content mostly consisted of fun science, comedy, and educational videos.

She was watching with interest when a historical video suddenly appeared in her feed.

It was about the history of another world.

Curious, she tapped it open.

The zombie world's early history was strikingly similar to her own. From what she had learned, this was what people called a parallel world.

Kiana Kaslana never hid such facts—she was always direct about them.

Regarding the Highschool of the Dead world, she never pretended it was a game world; she made it clear it was a real parallel world.

The Academy City's education system also emphasized that the world was not fair. Humanity's flaws and wickedness were written plainly in the textbooks.

The world was never purely black or white.

Under this kind of education, when students of Academy City were approached by strangers, their first instinct was to wonder what ulterior motives the other person might have.

"A world war, huh?"

Mushoku Kika watched the footage of roaring artillery and firestorms. The video described two world wars that took place in that world's future.

The sheer number of human casualties from self-inflicted slaughter made her sigh.

No wonder the Angelic Ladies imposed such strict control over firearms and other hot weapons.

Humans could never stop killing each other.

Such restrictions were justified.

Human desire could only be kept suppressed deep within the valley.

With their Klein Fields, energy shields, and the power of their Stigmata, they were immune to conventional firearms and hot weapons.

But ordinary people didn't have that luxury—no Herrscher armor, no Stigmata powers, no advanced weaponry.

After finishing the video on the parallel world's history—one without angels—Mushoku Kika rose from the sofa and returned to her room.

She entered her game pod and logged into her account.

The moment she logged in, she noticed a flashing icon in her friend list. Opening it, she saw a string of messages—all from Kiana.

"Hey, hey, are you there?"

"Kika-chan, Aisha told me you got grossed out by the zombies and didn't want to log back in."

"When you're online, reply to me! I want to meet you offline."

"Aisha said you're her roommate. When I have time, I'll come over so we can hang out together!"

...

Mushoku Kika looked at the endless list of messages and felt a twinge of irritation.

This girl—Kiana—was way too familiar.

She had already investigated her.

That face she was using now—wasn't her real one.

Though everyone in Academy City was attractive by default, this girl had gone out of her way to sculpt an even prettier face—and was using it to cause trouble everywhere.

Hopefully, Aisha hadn't been tricked by this wicked woman.

Logging back in, Mushoku Kika found herself in the same familiar base—though it had been upgraded.

Just as she was about to message Aisha, a figure approached.

"Kika!" The newcomer was Kiana, who immediately leaped at her. "I missed you so much!"

Mushoku Kika stepped aside, dodging Kiana Kaslana's hug. She looked at her coldly. "Why are you here?"

"I saw you log in, so I came to find you," Kiana said, reaching out to grab her hand—only for Mushoku Kika to pull away.

"Stop right there!" Mushoku Kika took a step back. "What exactly do you want?"

Kiana Kaslana's eyes dimmed. "I just wanted to be with you, that's all…"

"Heh…"

Mushoku Kika let out a cold laugh.

That was another reason she had quit the game.

This girl was so annoying.

"Is that really a problem?" Kiana said with a smile.

"Sorry, but I don't want to be with you."

Mushoku Kika looked at her with open disdain.

"Where's Aisha?" she asked.

"Aisha-sis is still resting aboard the Splendida," Kiana said, pressing a finger lightly to her lips with a mischievous smile.

"What did you do to her?"

Mushoku Kika frowned. Aisha was her friend. Even though none of their bodies here were their real ones, that didn't mean they could just do whatever they wanted.

"Take a guess!"

Kiana Kaslana's face showed a mischievous smile.

"Guess if I'll blow your head off with my cannon."

Expressionless, Mushoku Kika raised her hand. Using nanomaterial, she formed a floating cannon beside her. Its barrel locked onto Kiana Kaslana's head, and a red glow began gathering at the muzzle.

"I guess you won't—"

"Hm?"

Mushoku Kika's eyes narrowed.

"I just played cards with Aisha-sis all night."

"What cards?"

"Yu-Gi-Oh!"

Boom!

Having anticipated it, Kiana Kaslana quickly leaned back. A red beam cut through the air right before her face. Straightening again, she shouted, "Why did you fire?!"

"I simply felt like hitting you."

Mushoku Kika's floating cannon began charging again.

"Wait! Stop! I don't want to play anymore! Let's just go see Aisha already!"

Meanwhile, Kiana secretly checked Mushoku Kika's browsing history.

"I don't have time for you," Mushoku Kika said coldly, opening her personal interface. She tapped the map and selected the Splendida.

Her entire body dissolved into countless silver particles, merging into the base.

At the same time, aboard the Splendida aerial battleship, nanomaterial gathered and reformed into Mushoku Kika's figure.

It wasn't spatial teleportation—just the disassembly of her body at point A and reconstruction at point B.

The Splendida was an airborne mobile base built by Bronya in this world. It continuously traveled along a fixed flight route.

Its purpose was similar to the transport plane at the start of a battle royale game, capable of distributing supply drops.

Starting from the Toy Factory base, it circled the globe once, returned to the starting point, distributed a batch of nanomaterial, and repeated the cycle endlessly.
