Chapter 107 - Like Mothers Like Sons

Duke Colus Hilton and his brother Mason Kisser, half-siblings whose mothers were such great friends that they married their daughters to each other's sons. Their husbands were gone, leaving them with the place of power–a little too convenient in the eyes of their scrutinizing rivals. Every year, the mothers took a long vacation together. A couple of hundred slaves accompanied them to a remote place that changed every year. They would return to their seat of power after a few months, but the slaves? Alas, caught engaging in a sexual act upon each other by one of their sons, they were hanged by the order of the capital, and the power fell into Hilton's hands, as he was the one to have reported the unholy act. Upon taking his seat as the duke of Corus Hold, a land with many small villages that acted as outposts for the capital, Hilton tried to escape the shame that his mother had brought onto him.
