Julian felt uncomfortable when Ryan asked questions that he thought he shouldn't have asked. He knew they had been friends for a long time, but that didn't mean he could ask such things. Especially things that he thought were strange to ask.
As he tried to avoid the man by busy himself tidying up his groceries, suddenly he felt two arms hugging him from behind. They weren't his husband's arms.
At first, Julian thought it was his husband, because Arcane often hugged him from behind like that. But he began to realize that it wasn't time for Arcane to come home from teaching yet.
He had only been tidying up he groceries for a few minutes, which meant Arcane hadn't come home yet. Added to that was the scent of someone behind him.
The two arms then pulled him from behind, hugging him so tightly that Julian was startled.
"No wonder he likes you so much. You are very sweet, and even your scent is soothing," he whispered in his ear.
