Chapter 17 - 15. omega

That night, Jay sat alone on the balcony, the soft glow of the house lights casting shadows across his face. His heart felt heavy—not because of the events of the day, but because of something new he had just realized about himself. That instinct, that feeling—he had just discovered that he had become an Omega. The change wasn't just physical; it touched his emotions and his senses.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, but the scents around him felt overwhelming. Every sound, every step in the house pressed down on him even more. He knew that if Liam or Eric were nearby, the Alphas would sense something different about him, and his new Omega instincts wouldn't allow him to get too close.

Jay lowered his gaze to his hands, his chest tight with emotion. He missed the simple moments—light teasing, brushing past Liam in the hallway, the routines that had once been easy and comforting. But now, he had to restrain himself. He couldn't get close, couldn't show anything. His heart ached because their closeness was now limited by something he couldn't control.

He tried to smile faintly at himself, but the quiet balcony only emphasized the loneliness he felt. The emotion wasn't anger or hatred—just loss. Loss of the freedom to be near Liam, Noah, and Eric as he once had. Every step felt cautious, every breath mixed with fear, sadness, and curiosity.

Even though his heart was heavy, he knew he had to hide the change. No one could know yet. If Liam or Eric found out, they would act differently—and Jay wasn't ready for that. His new Omega instincts reminded him that boundaries now existed—not because they didn't want closeness, but because of himself.

He sat quietly, staring at the night sky, letting the sadness flow slowly. No one saw, no one knew.

Jay sat in a corner of the room, lowering his gaze, trying to avoid eye contact with Liam and Eric as they chatted. Every time Liam tried to come closer, Jay instinctively shifted back, his heart racing. Noah noticed his strange behavior, but Jay only gave a thin smile whenever they looked his way—a smile that couldn't hide the tension in his heart.

Liam began to worry.

"Why do you keep pulling away, Jay? Are you hurt?" His voice was soft, trying to break through the wall Jay had built. Jay just shook his head, lowering his gaze even further. Inside, he felt sad because he had to restrain himself from being near them, especially Liam, even though he desperately wanted to.

Eric added a question, trying to understand.

"Jay… are you okay?"

Jay exhaled slowly, trying to calm himself, afraid his Omega instincts would be noticed. He tried to stay composed, but the scents and touch around him made him increasingly sensitive. He knew that if he got too close to an Alpha, his instincts might betray him, raising questions—questions he wasn't ready to answer.

Noah just watched from a distance, confused. Jay was usually friendly, but now he rarely spoke and often avoided contact. That alone was enough for them to notice something was different, even if they couldn't fully understand what. Jay felt sad but knew he had to keep this secret. He needed time to accept the change within himself before anyone else could know.

That night, the atmosphere was tense yet quiet. Every movement Jay made was observed, but he kept his distance, striving to remain inconspicuous. His heart longed for the closeness of before, but his Omega instincts prevented him from reaching out. It was an internal struggle only he fully understood, while Liam, Eric, and Noah could only sense that something was "different," without knowing exactly what had happened.

Later, Jay walked along the quiet street, the ground still wet from the recent rain. He clutched a small bottle of pheromone-suppressing medicine—a way to hide his Omega identity from those around him. His heart raced, not from the rain or the empty street, but from the blazing awareness within: his body had changed, and his Omega hormones made him sensitive, weak, and easily detectable by Alphas.

He paused under a streetlamp, glancing around. No one was in sight. He exhaled slowly, trying to steady himself. But as he took another step, a shadow emerged from the side of a building. Before Jay could react, hands grabbed him. He tried to scream, to fight free, but his body felt heavy and weak from the hormonal changes.

"No… not now…" Jay whispered, searching for an escape, but darkness blocked every route. Fear and exhaustion took over. The bottle of pheromone-suppressing medicine slipped from his grasp, falling onto the wet street, glinting faintly under the lamp.

The kidnapper moved swiftly, covering his mouth with a damp cloth, and Jay was led toward a dark vehicle. No one saw, no one would know—at least for now. His heart pounded wildly, a mix of anger, fear, and panic. His body was weak, but his mind remained sharp, assessing the situation, searching for a way to survive.

On that deserted street, only the faint sound of dripping rain and the rustle of the wind accompanied him. Jay realized just how dangerous the situation had become. All his plans to hide his Omega identity had become a vulnerability, exploited by unknown forces.

He hated that he had become weak because he was an Omega.
