Gu Yanshen placed a cup of warmed honey water on the small table beside Lin Wan Yi's hand.
"Have some water."
Lin Wan Yi held a book in its original language, not lifting her head.
"Mr. Gu, you're becoming more and more like a nagging mom."
"Nonsense."
His fingers gently tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
"I have a meeting at the division this afternoon."
Lin Wan Yi turned a page, the paper making a slight "rustle" sound.
"Go ahead, why are you reporting to me."
"I might be back late."
His hand lingered, tidying the thin blanket over her stomach.
"Lock the door when you're at home."
"Got it."
"Don't open the door for anyone unrelated."
"Got it, got it, you've said it eight hundred times."
"If the weather's nice and you want to get some sun, do it in our yard."
He paused.
"Don't go far, the roads outside aren't even."
Lin Wan Yi finally lifted her head from the book, looking at him.
"Gu Yanshen, do you want to tie a rope around my ankle?"
