"Then I'll become part of this family," Danica insisted. "You can persuade Gideon. Think about Noel. He is only six. He needs his mother. He has been with me all these years. But Gideon took him away from me. This is torture for him."
Fake tears brimmed in her eyes. "Noel can't suddenly live without me. He needs both his parents. Please, Georgea… help me. I want Noel to grow up with his father and mother by his side."
"You'll have to speak to Gideon yourself," Georgea replied curtly. "Whether he chooses to marry you is entirely up to him. I won't interfere."
Danica wasn't expecting this answer. Her reply strengthened her doubt that Georgea had changed, that she had switched her side. But she wouldn't accept it.
"He is your son," Danica insisted. "He listens to you. If you speak, he'll agree. Please… help me."
She gripped Georgea's hand desperately.
