Gideon went to the ward where Summer had been staying and ran into Chloe outside.
"You?" Chloe glared at him. "What are you doing here? Have you come to check whether she is alive or dead?"
"I'm not here to argue," Gideon replied coldly. "I'm here for Summer."
"We don't need you here. Leave."
Ignoring her completely, Gideon walked past her and took a seat beside the bed.
Chloe's face darkened with fury. She wanted nothing more than to drag him out of the room. "She is already under so much stress. Don't make things harder for her. I'm begging you—leave before she wakes up."
Gideon was calm, unaffected by her hostility. "Aren't you supposed to be studying? Your final exams are coming up. Go prepare. I'm here with Summer. I'll take care of her."
"You being here is the problem," Chloe shot back. "Your presence will only make everything worse."
"If you do well, I'll support your further studies," Gideon cut in, brushing aside her words. "I can send you abroad."
