On the other end, Summer returned to the ICU. Just then, the door was pushed open, and a nurse came out.
"How is my daughter?" she asked in a hurry, her voice shaking. "Dr. Ashton said Hope would be under observation only for twenty-four hours. That time has already passed. But there is no sign of Hope. And Dr. Ashton hadn't come to check on her until now. What is going on?"
"Relax, Madam," the nurse replied. "Dr. Ashton is constantly in touch with the team over the phone. He is busy today with three surgeries. Let him come and check Hope first. Once he approves, we will shift her to the ward."
Having said that, she walked away.
Summer released a deep sigh, her tense shoulder relaxing. For the first time, she was happy to be proven wrong. Her disappointment that Ashton had not checked on Hope vanished. Even in his busy schedule, he had been constantly checking on Hope.
"Thank goodness," she mumbled. "Gideon has not influenced him."
