After Onoki had told them the full plan, they were asked to rest for an hour before they were ready to march out.
'Dude might be a shorty but damn he is scary. How the fuck is Hiruzen the strongest Kage in the current times even? I can believe that he is stronger than Rasa, the third mizukage but Onoki and the third Raikage? Those two are bigger monsters than him.' Shota thought to himself
'Hiruzen can use jutsus from all five chakra nature's and secret jutsus of Konoha clans but Onoki can obliterate his jutsus and him easily. He can fly and dude has some cool Earth jutsus. The third Raikage was super fast and strong and can also use black lightning. Yeah, I can't really rely on my anime knowledge on some things.'
They soon moved out with following the front force of the Iwa army of thousand shinobi. The rest of the Iwa army along with the Tsuchikage would travel from further away and take a different route to prevent Kumo from knowing that there was an ambush.
It was also good that the Suna Anbu was away from the Iwa army considering the hate that the Iwa shinobi had for them.
Shota watched from a high ridge far from the battlefield along with the other suna Anbu. Their camouflage jutsu kept them hidden. Below him, a thousand Iwa shinobi marched in perfect lines. They looked strong and ready. They were the bait.
Shota had doubts about why the Raikage would actually come here. But Iwa had prepared for it.
The Raikage had received false news. Scouts from the hidden willage in the land of frost told him Iwa planned to invade the Land of Frost through the Land of Hot Springs. The Land of Frost was Kumo's ally. The Raikage would come have to defend it since the other s rank of the shinobi were busy on other fronts.
In truth, the Frost village leader had changed sides. He had started hating Kumo's control. He wanted freedom. He fed the Raikage wrong information to bring him here at the perfect time, when most Kumo troops fought Konoha on another front.
The Raikage will bring only a thousand men. He would not bring more than that since he would have to leave enough in the village to protect it.
Shota knew what would happen next from the anime. The Raikage would order his army to retreat. He would stay behind alone to hold the Iwa forces. He would fight ten thousand men for days so his people could live.
Shota felt respect and worry at the same time.The man was a legend for a reason.
'Here they come.' Shoto thought as he Kumo forces appeared on the horizon. The Third Raikage led them, tall and proud. His white hair and beard moved in the wind. There were also land of frost army with them.
The two armies met in a wide valley.
Shouts filled the air. Kunai flew. Jutsu exploded.
Earth walls rose. Lightning spears fell. Fireballs lit the sky. Both sides fought hard. Men fell. Blood painted the grass. The battle was a statement for now.
The Third Raikage grew impatient.
Lightning crackled around his body. The famous Lightning Chakra Cloak formed around him.
He charged into the Iwa lines alone.
Two Iwa jōnin tried to stop him. The Raikage moved like thunder. His hand chopped them apart.
Both jōnin fell in pieces.
Kumo soldiers cheered. But then the sky changed.
A bright beam of light shot down from above. The cube of destruction missed the Raikage by inches. He jumped aside easily, but the ground where he stood turned to dust.
The Raikage looked up and shouted.
"Ōnoki!"
But he found no one. Instead his attention turned to a Kumo sensor who screamed.
"Raikage-sama! Thousands of new chakra signatures! Coming from the sky! It's an AMBUSH!"
Kumo soldiers looked at him like he was crazy.
"Sky? Don't be stupid!Why would their be shinobi in the sky?"
They were answered as they felt something wrong and then they looked up.
Everyone looked up.
A small island floated high above the battlefield. Trees grew on it. Rocks covered the sides. Thousands of Iwa shinobi stood on the edge, ready to jump.
A short old man floated in front, holding the entire island in the air with his jutsu.
Ōnoki, the Third Tsuchikage.
He lowered the island slowly towards the ground.
Iwa shinobi poured out like ants from a hill. Nine thousand fresh men joined the thousand already fighting.
Shota was still amazed by the scene as well as when he first heard of this plan.
To prevent the sensor nin and the scout from warning the Raikage of an ambush, Onoki had found a very small island that could host 9000 shinobi and he had just lifted it. No one would sense that far in the sky. And when they did, it would be too late.
The shinobi from the land of frost took this chance to retreat as the third Raikage gritted his teeth as he realised that he had been had.
He mumbled angrily,"Traitors and schemers, all of them."
He turned to face the ocean of Iwa shinobi closing in without any fear though.
