Chapter 20 - The Woman Who Ran

There were people who escaped The Sheek Keep,

This solemn deed didn't come frequently:

My Bird Men and Women informed me

That a woman was injured,

and that a random man followed the herd.

.

We made our way to a small house

Fences and green scenery,

The country.

.

I peered and saw that there was a domestic dispute,

violence and anger like the flu;

I shook my head,

Some issues can never be thread.

.

I told The Bird Women to show themselves to the woman,

give her strength,

the Ravens and Crows circled the couple's home,

Many face abuse alone.

.

Inside, the woman was bleeding, screaming,

and begged that the man stop

or she will be dead.

.

Suddenly, she looked my way,

her brown eyes had widened;

they felt like stains,

she didn't expect my face.

.

"Save your life, and you shall be set free;

Run away tonight.

Leave this man this fortnight.

.

You stay, you die,

Your child will cry,

then my Bird Men will take you to the Keep,

because this isn't the first time you hurt yourself and others for the weak."

.

My harbingers waited as she answered,

then she nodded,

the man looked around, not knowing that I was there,

and he dropped to the floor,

he convulsed, his moans echoed.

.

"GO," I hissed

and she grabbed her child

and ran many miles.

.

She escaped his abuse,

the woman-beater had then been deceased,

and was miserable in The Sheep Keep:

as those who harm the innocent weep.

.

Every so often, the woman would light a candle

and prayed to me:

She thanked me

as I spared her life.

.

I had woken up her mind,

and knew that man did not love her,

just felt that he had owned her.

.

Her choice saved her daughter from evil men,

and she appreciated my blunt rendition,

her savior in wool and moonlight,

Her life or the puppeteer's fight

was the path I made her choose that night.

.

I smiled when she thanked me,

and even though she was long gone,

Her Victorian Presence made anyone felt drawn,

The woman was strong.
