Cherreads

Chapter 12 - Distorted Smile

Once I had avenged the holy man,

I had sought the well-respected man,

Pastor Light was considered dead,

His burnt body and name were still adread.

.

The town spoke, whispered my name

"The spiteful dame!"

They sense my energy, my will, and my hate

soon this entire village shall defecate.

.

Crows and ravens landed and watched

My very own harbingers upon the flock ----

I cursed the town and their livestock,

The rain and plague were nonstop.

Their skin blistered and faces pained

They said I was insane! The witch remains!"

.

I stalked the well-respected man,

The bible preachers warned him

"Looney was lurking, striking,"

that he was dying.

The ravens and crow had hung out all over the village,

Tethered to my littered image.

.

The well-respected man remained in his office,

He feared my very name and fought it.

The man cowered when I had shown him my face,

He gulped loudly, throwing up what he ate.

.

Soon, he shall join my herd,

his lies were no longer words.

He cried out that I am obscene,

a witch who curses power and autonomy.

I need no God,

I am the ruler after all:

My hands wield the power

That will burn his throat

And leave second-degree burns.

.

This man snorted,

though it's distorted

I smelled his fear and tasted its juice,

He pretended that he wouldn't puke:

"You became a freak,

a demon, a succubus, a heinous deed

whom no one weeps.

I cannot fear what God never made,

unholiness penetrates your veins."

.

I laugh,

"Yet you still shiver at the sound of my name,

I am the lion's mane!

I reflect good and evil,

My decision is a deal.

You stole my crown:

I am hunting you down.

You're virtue's enemy,

hurting the innocent and the lonely;

You then shift the blame,

and protect your shame.

I have come for you,

I speak,

I am no longer meek,

Welcome to The Sheep Keep, you distorted creep!"

.

He joined me in The Sheep Keep,

He mourned and shrieked,

and screams even today that I made him suffer,

he refuses to hear that he was the other.
