Chapter 2 The Book of Creation, the Origin of Chaos
The Abyss remained silent for a long time. Gaia, the Goddess of the Earth, asked in a puzzled tone, "Brother?"
Thinking of Gaia's future actions, Tartarus replied, "Dear sister, I'm truly sorry. I want to perceive the world more realistically, to feel the beauty of the earth. I don't want to become a god for now."
"I am the Abyss. What you see now is the most authentic me, and what you feel is also the most authentic me. Isn't that better?"
After Tartarus finished speaking, an irregularly shaped fragment appeared out of thin air within the Abyss, seemingly invisible to all senses, within an almost intangible sphere of light.
Memories appeared in his mind out of thin air: "The world's first deception is born. Obtaining a fragment of the God of Deception."
"This must be from the will of the Chaos world. The world's first time obtaining a fragment of godhood, interesting."
Tartarus didn't panic at being exposed by the Chaos world; instead, a hint of joy mingled with his calm.
He had discovered a method to obtain a new fragment of godhood.
At this moment, Gaia, the Earth Goddess, was unaware of Tartarus's lie; an expression of envy appeared on her youthful and beautiful face.
"Yes, if I could, I would also like to return to the primordial earth, to perceive the abyss, to perceive the world. But I was already divined at birth."
"Chaos told me that my divine transformation will change the world in the future. I don't understand, but I believe Chaos, because He gave birth to us."
"The future!" Tartarus sighed, "There will be a sky above the earth."
"The sky? What is that?" Gaia, the Earth Goddess, asked疑惑地.
"I don't know, my sister. The abyss is chaotic; occasionally, certain thoughts suddenly flash through my mind, and I cannot control them," Tartarus replied mysteriously.
"Yes, I can sense the chaos of the Abyss," said Gaia, the Earth Goddess. "My dear brother, I must depart."
"Many chaotic elements within the earth are disrupting its balance. I must return to the earth and suppress these chaotic elements with my strongest divine power. If you miss me, call upon me. Farewell, my brother."
"Farewell, my sister," Tartarus replied.
The holy light vanished, and Gaia, the Earth Goddess, disappeared.
The Abyss and the earth merged, leaving no trace of light.
Tartarus continued to intently sense the Abyss.
Outwardly, the Abyss now resembled the earth, a vast and solid region the same size as the earth, constructed of earth and stone.
However, the earth was primarily black and earthen yellow, with an abundance of earthen yellow and a scarcity of jet black.
The Abyss, on the other hand, was entirely black, without a single other color—pure black. Perhaps he hasn't achieved deification and hasn't entered the earth. Or perhaps Gaia, the Earth God, controls the earth and actively isolates it from external detection.
Tartars is the Abyss; currently, he can only vaguely sense that the earth is stable and full of life.
He can vaguely sense a considerable amount of chaotic origin within the earth, but it's suppressed, and he can't perceive its exact proportion.
In terms of origin, the primordial forces constituting the Abyss and the earth might be diametrically opposed.
"In Greek mythology, Zeus and others liked to seal other gods in Tartarus. The chaotic origin here might interfere with the gods' use of divine power, making it difficult for them to easily escape to the surface."
As the embodiment of the Abyss, he can sense and see everything within it clearly.
At this moment, Tartars is observing his own divine essence.
Within a nearly invisible sphere of light, the pure black crystalline sphere-like "God of the Abyss—Divinity" floats naturally.
Beside it, tiny fragments, like grains of rice or scraps of paper, floated naturally.
Tartaros thought for a moment, and the divine essence of the black crystal sphere transformed into squares, rhombuses, swords, and various other shapes he desired.
He could sense that the divine essence was the core of a god's life; as long as the divine essence remained, the god would be immortal.
"Divinity isn't fixed; it can change at will. Although I haven't compared it to other divine titles, I feel my God of the Abyss possesses immense divine power, after all, it's one of the five primordial gods."
Tartaros pondered, "However, in the ancient Greek mythology I knew from my previous life, Tartarus, though a terrifying place, didn't achieve divinity."
"Is it because the abyss's inherent source is too powerful? Or are there too many chaotic sources that haven't merged, preventing it from successfully achieving divinity? Or is Chaos intentionally hindering Tartarus's divinization?"
"That doesn't make sense either. In original Greek mythology, Tartarus and Gaia mated and had an incredibly powerful child, so Tartarus should have achieved divinity."
"However, as gods, they might be able to mate even without divinity…"
He considered many reasons, but Tartarus wasn't sure what the reason was.
As for how to achieve divinity, he still couldn't think of a method.
His knowledge of ancient Greek mythology was limited to knowing various Greek mythological stories.
Having truly arrived in this world and become part of the Abyss, he hadn't received much information from Chaos.
This world remained largely unfamiliar to him; much remained to be explored.
Just as Tartarus was racking his brains, unable to find the reason,
a black-covered book appeared out of thin air within the sphere of light.
This book sometimes emitted dazzling starlight, sometimes a brilliant array of nine colors—red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, black, and white. At other times, it emitted a mysterious aura reminiscent of the boundless chaos surrounding the Abyss and the earth.
"This is… the Book of Creation?"
Tartarus vaguely saw four mysterious characters he didn't recognize on the book.
Then, the characters quickly transformed into Chinese characters he recognized—
[Book of Creation]
"A cheat code! But what's the use of this Book of Creation? Can it make me a god?" Tartarus wondered.
At that moment, the book turned a page.
The first page displayed new text:
[God of the Abyss]
[God of the Abyss - Divinity (Incomplete - 99%)]
[Complete Method: Devour the power of the Chaos Source, become the God of Chaos, and successfully achieve divinity.]
Tartaros thought for a moment, and the book turned another page.
The second page displayed new text:
[God of Deception]
[God of Deception - Divinity (Incomplete - 1%)]
[Complete Method: Successfully commit deception multiple times.]
After that, the Book of Creation did not turn another page.
"The two pages each display two different divine stats. Currently, I have no other divine stats or divine stat fragments, so there is no new page."
"No wonder I can't achieve divinity. It turns out my divine stat is incomplete, 99%, just a little short. The first page already hinted that devouring the power of the Chaos Source can achieve divinity. I have the method."
Tartaros quickly began to think.
Chaos, seemingly enveloping the abyss and the earth, was in reality completely isolated from him and Gaia.
Tartars could only see the mysterious, primordial chaos beyond, but he couldn't sense any trace of it, much less break through the barrier to absorb its chaotic essence.
The only breakthrough was the earth.
Tartars had previously sensed that the earth contained chaotic essence.
Given the vastness of the earth, the amount of chaotic essence within it must be considerable.
He had tried before to sense the earth's interior, but to no avail.
Tartars simply couldn't forcibly extract chaotic essence from the earth.
Therefore…
"Calling upon you, my sister, Gaia, Goddess of the Earth!"
