Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: Hurricane Rescue?

Chapter 103: Hurricane Rescue?

Accompanied by the roar of the Hummer, Chris and the others left the winding mountain forest.

Inside the spacious truck, Stewie sighed, "Why is the inherently vicious wendigo so docile in this world? What's its origin pattern? I really want to understand it."

As for the complex and obscure terms coming from Stewie's mouth, Brian simply dismissed them as background noise.

If it were something literary, Brian could still join in and chat a bit.

But with such profound and esoteric scientific terminology, he didn't even understand it, so naturally he couldn't contribute.

However, what Brian didn't expect was that Chris, who had completely inherited Peter's simple-minded genes, could actually follow Stewie's line of reasoning on this matter.

Chris looked at the troubled Stewie and casually stated his theory, "You said that the two dimensions had a brief quantum entanglement. So, is there a possibility that this wendigo is a construct created by our world based on information provided by the other side?"

"What you said isn't impossible," Stewie pondered with a lowered head. The wendigo's personality and its origin were so contradictory—it indeed seemed like a product specifically designed by their world.

Making the normal abnormal, and then making the abnormal normal—isn't that exactly the style of their universe?

With a general idea forming, Stewie began to think deeply along this direction, wanting to understand its specific creation process.

After all, the birth of this universe was closely related to him, but Stewie knew the 'what' but not the 'why' of it.

He only knew the beginning and the end, completely unaware of the process of the universe's birth.

Therefore, although Stewie understood that his essence had undergone extraordinary changes after facilitating the birth of the universe, and he possessed many abilities he didn't know about.

But he didn't know how to use these abilities, nor did he understand their specific origins.

Thus, with a rare opportunity to study the mysteries of the world's fundamental laws, Stewie was inevitably a bit obsessed.

However, before Stewie could make any definite progress, Brian's phone suddenly rang, interrupting Stewie's thoughts.

"Oh, what was I just thinking about?"

Watching Stewie start to suck his thumb, Chris took Brian's phone and scolded, "Stewie, take your finger out of your mouth—there are tons of germs on it."

Stewie ignored him. He curiously looked at the holographic projection in front of him, always feeling like he'd forgotten something important.

He only glanced at the projection twice, found that it was just some unusual cosmic fluctuations, then casually closed the projection, too lazy to waste any more mental energy on it.

After Chris answered the phone, he heard an urgent, rough voice, "Brian, you need to help me! They kidnapped Patty and the others, and I'm next!"

"Meg?" Chris asked, puzzled. He'd never heard Meg's voice on the phone before, and he didn't expect it to sound so masculine.

"Chris!?" Meg's voice rose in pitch, then she spoke with even greater urgency, "We're traveling in Paris, and suddenly a group of people burst into our room and kidnapped Patty and the others. The hotel we're staying at is..."

Before she could finish, no more of Meg's voice came from the other end of the phone.

Chris listened with a cold expression to the faint sounds coming through: Meg's desperate struggles, the heavy breathing of three men, and the strong heartbeat of whoever was now holding the phone.

Just as Chris was about to say something threatening, Stewie, sitting in the back, suddenly interjected, "I don't know who you are, and I don't know what you want, but I really don't have any special skills, and there's no way I can find you.

If you're willing, I have two dollars and a kid's watch—you can take either one."

Brian looked at Stewie with complete exasperation, and Chris also stared at him with total disbelief.

What kind of chaos was this guy stirring up now!

But Chris didn't have time to deal with Stewie at the moment. He quickly said, before the kidnapper on the other side hung up, "Her heart is in her head, so please don't hit her head too hard."

The moment Chris finished speaking, the other side promptly hung up the phone.

"Phew, I finally said it," Chris let out a long breath. Now he didn't have to worry about those people panicking when they shot Meg in the chest and found no heart there.

"What are you two doing! Meg is in their hands—are you trying to get her killed faster?"

Brian exclaimed in shock, not expecting these two brothers to be even more ridiculous than each other.

But after his outburst, Brian still asked anxiously, "What should we do now? Driving is too slow. Let's get to an airport. Where's the nearest one in West Virginia?"

Compared to the flustered Brian, Stewie and Chris were exceptionally calm.

Chris even had the leisure to chat with Stewie, "Who did you learn those lines from just now? Why do I feel like Peter himself said them? Did he possess you for a second?"

"Oh ho, don't joke around—do I really sound that much like him?" Stewie said bashfully, a little embarrassed.

"Uh." Chris was instantly awkward. He'd genuinely just wanted to ask Stewie how he'd learned to mimic so well, with no intention of complimenting him.

Brian, on the side, frantically pulled out a map, then drove while looking at it, constantly cursing, "That's your own sister! Don't you two jerks care at all?"

Chris, feeling a bit exasperated with Stewie, responded, "At this distance, getting to Paris would take at least a day, so there's no point in rushing. It's better to stay calm.

Besides, with Meg's looks, do you think anyone would be interested in her? There's absolutely no need to worry about someone buying her."

"What? You actually think that?" Brian's expression was shocked, and he even slowed the truck down.

Chris noticed something was off and asked curiously, "What's wrong? Don't all organizations that kidnap young women engage in human trafficking? Is there something else? Even if there's organ trafficking, they wouldn't find a compatible recipient for Meg's organs so quickly, right?"

Brian gasped and slapped the steering wheel, saying, "Oh my God! Are you really that sheltered? Chris, don't you know there's a dark and horrific business of hunting humans for sport and torture?"

"..."

Chris recalled the Family Guy episodes he knew—he was certain this scene was a parody of Taken.

In the original timeline, Brian and Stewie had personally gone to the rescue, perfectly ruining Meg's chance at a decent life.

But at Brian's reminder, Chris suddenly realized that the timeline of this universe had long been shattered by his actions, and who knew what changes would occur in the development of this universe.

So what the Taken plot would evolve into was indeed hard to predict.

Understanding the seriousness of the situation, Chris no longer maintained his previous composure. He anxiously grabbed the map and began giving Brian directions.

"Quick, quick, quick! I don't want to perform reconstructive surgery on Meg later—I'll puke if I have to!"
