Back on Earth, the heroes stood in stunned silence. The sky was clear again, save for the distant sparks of the Lionel fleet tearing itself apart in a civil war of greed.
"They... they stopped?" Lancer mumbled, lowering his guard.
Blaze looked at the radar. The Alpha Corp ships were moving in like a swarm of vultures, but they weren't firing on Earth. They were dismantling the remaining Lionel loyalists.
"No," Blaze said, his voice heavy with a new kind of realization. "They didn't stop. They were stopped by someone who didn't even need to be here to win."
"It looks like I really sided with the right person. A new era is about to begin..." The corner of his lips crept up. "Prepare a ship. Although there's not much left to help, we should still join the party."
In his ship, Leo stood up and stretched. He looked at the Patriarch, whose spirit seemed to have finally broken.
