The Hatake Residence
Many people had gathered at the Hatake residence. Because there were too many guests, the wedding venue had been arranged at the largest park within Konoha.
This wedding did not conform to the traditional weddings of the Ninja World. Both Kakashi and Hikari felt that traditional weddings were simply too tedious and lengthy.
Kakashi originally intended to pay for it out of his own pocket. However, considering that important figures from the other four villages would be attending, Hiruzen Sarutobi decisively suggested that Kakashi allocate funds directly from Konoha's treasury. After all, strictly speaking, this wedding was not purely Kakashi's private affair.
At this moment, dressed in formal black attire, Kakashi looked calm as he handed out red envelopes to a group of children.
They were basically all children from the Ninja Academy.
Since he was getting married, he naturally brought Naruto along. And bringing Naruto along meant that Sakura, Ino, Hinata, Shikamaru, Chōji, Kiba, and Shino all came as well.
Even Sasuke had arrived at the scene, led by Itachi.
Naturally, Kakashi had no intention of letting these brats off the hook; he arranged for all of them to be flower girls and page boys, responsible for livening up the atmosphere during his and Hikari's journey to the wedding venue.
"Thank you, Big Brother Kakashi!"
Naruto looked at the red envelope Kakashi had handed him, smiling broadly at the man who had been keeping him company.
"Big Brother Kakashi, you'll definitely be happy every day after you marry Big Sister Hikari, right?"
Naruto carefully put the red envelope into the pocket of the new clothes Kakashi had bought for him.
"Thank you, Lord Hokage~"
Compared to Naruto, who was already very familiar with Kakashi, Sakura was somewhat reserved.
"Ma, are you the Sakura that Naruto mentioned?"
"Naruto said that Sakura's forehead looks very nice, you know~"
Looking at the shy little girl before him, Kakashi reached out and rubbed her head as he stuffed the red envelope into her hand.
"Eh? Is... is that so?"
Sakura glanced at Naruto in surprise, then blushed slightly.
"Big Brother Kakashi! How could you do that?"
Naruto turned bright red and spoke somewhat anxiously.
Kakashi smiled and rubbed Naruto's head, then went to give red envelopes to the other children.
The guests nearby who watched Kakashi's actions revealed knowing smiles.
They hadn't expected that someone like Kakashi would show such a side when facing these brats.
"It's really nice. Even Kakashi is getting married."
A tall, white-haired man chewed on a nut, unable to help but sigh with emotion upon seeing this scene.
"What the hell are you sighing for?"
Beside the man, Tsunade glanced at him lightly, then picked up the sake bottle next to her and took a large swig.
"I say, at any rate, this is such an important day. You should drink a little less."
Jiraiya, who had rushed back in a hurry last night, looked helplessly at Tsunade beside him.
"Mind your own business."
Tsunade wiped a stain of sake from the corner of her mouth, completely indifferent to Jiraiya's attitude.
"But speaking of which, it's almost time. The bride should be just about ready by now, right?"
At this moment, in the Hatake residence's backyard, which had been converted into a temporary dressing room, a beautiful black-haired young woman in a gorgeous white dress with gold trim sat quietly in front of the vanity mirror. A group of people surrounded Hikari, applying the final touches to her makeup.
"Kurenai, hurry up, it's almost time!"
Anko, standing at the door and observing the movement outside, urged Kurenai, who was applying makeup to Hikari inside the room.
"Shut up, it's almost done."
Dressed in a capable outfit, Kurenai was currently holding an eyeliner pencil, drawing the final eyeliner for Hikari.
Kurenai's attention was entirely focused on Hikari's face before her, while Hikari sat quietly at the vanity, her pair of bright, jet-black eyes sizing up the person before her in thought.
As the wife Kakashi was about to marry, Hikari never thought there would be a day when Kurenai would help her with her makeup.
After all, she knew absolutely nothing about this sort of thing.
"Ten minutes left."
Shizune, who was arranging Hikari's hair accessories, glanced at the alarm clock on the table.
"Done."
Kurenai looked at the beautiful person she had meticulously dressed up and nodded with satisfaction.
"Quick, quick, notify Kakashi to prepare for departure."
Shizune hurriedly supported Hikari's hand and walked toward the outside.
"The bride is coming out!"
And Anko, who had long been prepared at the door, shouted at the top of her lungs toward the outside.
It had to be said that Anko's voice was truly loud; a shout without any chakra almost attracted the attention of everyone in the Hatake residence.
Everyone looked toward the inner room in unison. Seeing Hikari walking out in a snow-white dress supported by Shizune, they couldn't help but feel stunned.
"Wow!"
"Big Sister Hikari is so pretty!"
"She's simply even prettier than Sakura!"
Naruto immediately exclaimed, causing Sakura next to him to roll her eyes at him, the goodwill that had just risen flying away instantly.
"Oh, great material!"
Jiraiya stared at Hikari with eyes practically glowing.
"If you dare write this girl into your novel, do you believe Kakashi will make it so your books can't be distributed within the country?"
Tsunade looked at Jiraiya with a cold sneer.
"I was just saying it casually..."
Jiraiya shrank his head back as he looked at Tsunade beside him.
Kakashi bent down and placed the last red envelope into the hands of a little girl with white eyes, then stood up and looked at the young woman walking toward him.
"It is time. We can depart, Lord Hokage."
Itachi, dressed in formal black attire, checked the time and spoke in a low voice beside Kakashi.
"Mm, I know."
Kakashi nodded and walked toward Hikari with steady steps.
"Kakashi."
Shizune placed the hand she was supporting into Kakashi's hand.
"You've worked hard."
Kakashi spoke calmly as he looked at Hikari before him.
"You are the one who has worked hard..."
Hikari held a trace of a gentle smile at the corner of her mouth and tightly grasped Kakashi's hand.
"Alright, stop being so mushy. You can get going."
Tsunade, unable to stand this display of public affection, shouted from the side.
Kakashi smiled at Tsunade's words, not minding them. Instead, he looked at the person before him and said softly:
"Let's go."
Hikari looked at the man before her, her eyes full of smiles, and nodded heavily.
"Mn!"
Stepping onto the red carpet that paved the way from the Hatake residence all the way to the wedding venue, Naruto and the other children hurriedly followed behind.
Although the distance to the wedding venue wasn't far, a carriage had been prepared for this.
This was a vehicle sent specially by the Fire Daimyō upon hearing of the Hokage's wedding.
Although it seemed a bit ostentatious to Kakashi, it was better than walking.
Flowers paved the road, and ceremonial cannons fired in unison.
Hikari tightly gripped the hand of the man beside her. She had never imagined that she would actually have a day like this.
Previously, regarding Kakashi's proposal of marriage, she had originally thought they would just have a nice meal together and find a witness.
Everything before her eyes made her feel somewhat unreal.
But the warmth belonging to Kakashi coming from her hand let her know that everything was real.
