Eevee had already settled into Lu Ye's home.
The wound wrapped with a bow-tied bandage really did not match this Eevee's filthy appearance.
Lu Ye attempted several times to bathe it, but considering possible wound infection, he ultimately refrained.
This Eevee built its own nest in the side courtyard. Although every potted plant in the side courtyard met its doom, Lu Yong viewed it quite cheerfully.
"No problem, it is still just a child, hahaha."
"Crash!"
Another potted plant was getting smashed sounded.
Lu Yong raised his eyebrows, using trembling hands to pick up food, ultimately still slamming down chopsticks with a "smack."
"I am going outside for fresh air."
Lu Ye smiled awkwardly. "Mom, I will compensate Dad for the plants later."
"What plants will you compensate him?" Liang Fang said surprisingly.
"Down south, there is something called Sudowoodo. It survives without watering."
Entering the messy side courtyard, the filthy Eevee was currently using stones to grind its claws.
Hearing footsteps, Eevee's ears suddenly flattened, gazing at the visitor with complete wariness.
However, seeing it was Lu Ye, Eevee's tail gently swayed once before quickly drooping down.
"Eevui."
Eevee listlessly cried once, lazily sprawling on the ground, using its tongue to lick the bandage.
"Itchy wounds mean they are healing." Lu Ye smiled. "Do not move. I will change your bandage."
This was Eevee's third day at Lu Ye's home.
This Eevee's recovery was quite fast, wounds already beginning to heal.
This is related to this world's Pokémon potions.
Although spray-based, the medicinal effects were quite astonishing, though only effective on Pokémon.
Lu Ye also managed all of Eevee's meals.
With Lu Ye's Poké Block Craftsmanship Lv5 skill, even if Hoopa arrived, it would still genuinely praise it!
Eevee sprawled on the ground with a completely unwilling expression, allowing Lu Ye to cradle it on his lap.
"This might hurt a little. Please bear with it."
"Eevui." Eevee disdainfully turned its face away.
While changing medicine, teardrops swirled in Eevee's eyes, yet the little thing stubbornly made no sound.
Lu Ye could not help smiling, rubbing its head.
Eevee's entire body stiffened, about to bare its teeth but ultimately only emitting low purring sounds from its throat.
"In two days, I will give you a bath, okay?"
"Eevui!!"
Eevee resistantly broke free from Lu Ye's hands.
"That will not do. Girls all love being pretty. This way, even at rescue stations."
Suddenly, Eevee struggled from Lu Ye's embrace, glaring at Lu Ye, filled with fury.
"Eevui!"
Lu Ye froze slightly, saying helplessly. "Alright, I understand. However, will you let me capture you?"
"Eevui."
Eevee coldly glanced at Lu Ye, turning its head and drilling back into its small nest.
Getting chased outside, Lu Ye felt somewhat dejected.
Uncle was waiting outside the door, nervously asking. "Still refuses your capture?"
Lu Ye nodded, sighing. "I probably said something wrong."
"What should we do? Then it can only go to rescue stations."
Uncle scratched his head.
"Otherwise, I will ask neighbours if anyone wants to adopt it?"
Lu Ye looked back at the side courtyard.
"Forget it, just release it back to the mountain."
Lu Ye never intended to become a trainer. This Eevee possessed strong battle instincts.
Capturing it would be unfair to this Eevee.
"Kekeke."
Sensing its master's emotions, Haunter also felt somewhat dejected.
It thought it could gain another companion. Even the boxing greeting motion was already practised with Linoone.
As for Linoone getting sent to the Pokémon Centre, it was immune to Shadow Punch, so do not speak nonsense!
The review week was ending. Eevee's attitude grew increasingly cold.
Lu Ye opened the side courtyard, discovering the bowl of Poké Blocks completely untouched, feeling somewhat helpless.
After changing Eevee's medicine for the final time, Lu Ye still tied a bow.
"You can leave now."
Lu Ye stood at the side courtyard entrance, speaking to Eevee.
"Eevui?"
Eevee's expression showed confusion, but the next moment it coldly stood up, trembling as it walked toward the door.
Without any reluctance, Eevee bumped past Lu Ye, heading toward the rural fields.
Dusk had already arrived.
Lu Ye followed Eevee all the way until the sky on both sides of the field ridges gradually darkened.
"If you remember the way, you can return anytime." Lu Ye called out.
However, Eevee had already walked far away. Even its sunset shadow gradually blurred.
Lu Ye ultimately could not restrain himself, pulling out the Poké Ball from his pocket.
"If it turns back, I will throw it directly." Lu Ye told Haunter.
"Kekeke." Haunter nodded with a completely serious expression.
Lu Ye so hoped it would turn back.
If it was willing to look back once, Lu Ye capturing it would have absolutely no psychological burden.
However, Eevee had already disappeared at the small path's end.
Lu Ye felt somewhat empty inside, experiencing indescribable sadness.
"Let us go, Haunter."
"Kekeke."
Haunter also felt somewhat dejected, floating dejectedly.
In the reed marshes beside the field ridges, Eevee quietly gazed at Lu Ye until the shadow disappeared from view before lightly turning around, vanishing instantly.
That evening, Uncle found Lu Ye, seemingly announcing tremendously joyful news.
"I asked experts to examine those saplings. Eevee did not damage them!"
"Is that so?" Lu Ye remained indifferent.
"Why are you not happy? Then capturing Eevee becomes completely reasonable!"
"It already left today." Lu Ye sighed. "It still refused to let me capture it."
Uncle's eyes widened. "Just throw the ball at its head and be done with it!"
"I wanted to, but it gave me absolutely no opportunity. It refused even looking back once."
If Eevee showed no reluctance whatsoever, Lu Ye had no intention of forcing capture.
Respecting Pokémon's own will was simultaneously Lu Ye's capture philosophy.
Uncle stroked his chin, clicking his tongue. "However, you still need to accompany me up the mountain tonight. I know what Pokémon those brats are."
"What?"
"Raticate!" Uncle said painfully. "They have teeth-grinding habits. Large trees are inconvenient, so they chose these newly planted saplings!"
Lu Ye happened to feel somewhat irritable, gritting his teeth. "Can I burn them to death?"
"Better not. Just teach them a lesson."
"Haunter!" Lu Ye called into the house. "Bring the fire extinguisher. We are going up the mountain tonight!"
The moon shone brightly with sparse stars. After light rain, the washed night sky appeared exceptionally clear.
Lu Ye marched at the forefront, Uncle trembling behind him.
"Should I restrain him later?" Uncle murmured.
Before reaching their destination, sharp cries already emerged from the forest.
"Ratata!"
"Eevui!"
Like intense fighting sounds, Lu Ye rushed into the forest, immediately widening his eyes.
Under bright moonlight, Eevee was surrounded by a group of Raticate and Rattata, yet its expression showed complete disdain.
Seeing that familiar bow, Lu Ye immediately gasped sharply.
"Eevui!"
Quick Attack leaped, Eevee nimbly avoided Hyper Fang, viciously knocking away one Rattata.
Breaking through the encirclement, Eevee frantically dug up Sand Attack, hitting the leader Raticate squarely in the face.
"Ratata!"
That obese Raticate shrieked sharply, both claws frantically scratching wildly, yet Eevee nimbly dodged.
Opening sharp teeth, Eevee used Bite on Raticate, viciously pinning it underfoot!
Uncle looked somewhat bewildered. "Is this Eevee this strong?"
"Eevui!"
Just then, two Rattata charged from the side. Eevee had not yet reacted when a familiar voice rang beside its ear.
"Use Quick Attack to dodge!"
"Eevui?"
Eevee still hesitated, but its body already responded honestly.
Unable to resist glancing back, Eevee's tears already began welling up.
"Do not space out."
Lu Ye commanded sharply. "Watch the left. Use Swift!"
"Eevui!"
Eevee sniffled, sidestepping Raticate's charge. Spinning star-shaped beams directly knocked Raticate to the ground!
Seeing their leader defeated, the Rattata scattered like startled birds and fish, shrieking as they fled in all directions.
Eevee was about to continue chasing, but got stopped by Lu Ye.
"Eevee!"
Eevee's entire body stiffened, using its filthy small hands quickly wiping its face, continuing forward without looking back.
Suddenly, Eevee shrank its neck.
A Poké Ball landed precisely on its head.
Eevee tearfully glared fiercely at Lu Ye, immediately getting absorbed by the red light.
"Are you certain it will not jump out?" Uncle swallowed.
That look absolutely did not seem like a willingness to be captured!
Lu Ye felt quite helpless, sighing.
"I should have realised earlier."
"After all this effort, this is actually a tsundere!"
The surroundings were utterly silent when, suddenly, a light sound rang out.
"Click!"
Not a single shake whatsoever.
Perfect capture!
