Chapter 196 - Chapter 196 – Blueprint of the Time Training Machine!

He had thought, judging by the name alone, that it would be something like Marvel's Spider-Man abilities—but apparently, that wasn't the case.

Still, from the description of the sub-functions, it was clear that this superpower had an incredibly high ceiling.

The Golden Roulette never truly disappointed.

The rest of the prizes consisted of two templates.

[Character Template – Calabash Brother: Second Brother]

Origin:Calabash Brothers

Type: Template

Effect: Upon activation, transforms the user's physique to match the Second Brother's template, drastically enhancing overall attributes.

Constant Traits:Clairvoyance and Keen Hearing.

Cost: Stamina

Traits:Clairvoyance, Keen Hearing

[Trait – Clairvoyance]

Type: Constant-Active

Effect: When using the Second Brother template, the user can activate Clairvoyance, transforming their line of sight into beams of green light. Allows the observation of anything within a kilometer radius and inflicts dizziness or vertigo upon observed creatures. No material barrier can obstruct Clairvoyance—not even invisibility.

Cost: Stamina

[Trait – Keen Hearing]

Type: Constant-Active

Effect: When using the Second Brother template, the user can activate Keen Hearing, allowing them to eavesdrop on any sound waves within a kilometer radius.

Cost: Stamina

"An area-wide god's-eye view and remote eavesdropping, huh?"

Ren roughly understood the Second Brother's abilities—extremely practical indeed.

A pity it wasn't a jackpot prize, meaning the strength wouldn't scale with his base attributes. He gave a small sigh, glancing regretfully at the description of the stat bonuses.

Then, he opened the details for the Sixth Brother template.

[Character Template – Calabash Brother: Sixth Brother]

Origin:Calabash Brothers

Type: Template

Effect: Upon activation, transforms the user's physique to match the Sixth Brother's template, drastically enhancing overall attributes.

Constant Traits:Invisibility, Translucent Body, Duplication Technique.

Cost: Stamina

Traits:Invisibility, Translucent Body

[Trait – Invisibility]

Type: Constant-Active

Effect: When using the Sixth Brother template, the user can freely enter an invisible state. During invisibility, all sounds—footsteps, collisions, even wind—are nullified. The user can choose to reveal partial features, such as enlarging their shadow. However, the ability has a cooldown: maximum invisibility duration is ten minutes, with a three-second cooldown afterward.

Cost: Stamina

"Timed invisibility, huh? Not unlimited… though I do recall that, in the original, the Sixth Brother's body did flicker from time to time."

Ren frowned slightly, then looked at the next ability.

[Trait – Translucent Body]

Type: Constant-Active

Effect: When using the Sixth Brother template, the user can transform into a light-particle state, allowing their body to phase through matter. In this form, the body becomes weightless, able to soar freely, immune to all physical attacks. During this phase state, the user cannot make contact or attack. Maximum duration: three minutes.

Cost: Stamina

[Trait – Duplication Technique]

Type: Constant-Active

Effect: When using the Sixth Brother template, the user can perform the Duplication Technique—usable while invisible. It can duplicate the user themselves, as well as any item they are currently touching. For example, a weapon in hand—but once it leaves contact, it can no longer be duplicated.

Cost: Stamina

"So even the Golden Roulette can't fully recreate the Calabash Brothers' powers? The First Brother's gigantification was limited, and now the Sixth Brother's Translucent Body too."

"In the original, he could attack even while intangible… but this 'Duplication Technique'—what's that about? I don't recall that detail."

Ren furrowed his brow, trying to recall the scene.

When the Sixth Brother fought the Scorpion King, he had split himself into two copies—and even his spiked club had been duplicated several times mid-attack.

But he couldn't quite remember whether those duplicated items were real or illusory.

After some thought, he decided to test it himself.

Ren switched to the Sixth Brother template, drew the Cursed Blade: Thousand Edge, and activated Duplication Technique.

The sheathed blade in his hand blurred, first overlapping and then splitting into several identical copies.

He received system feedback—they were illusions.

A bit disappointing.

So even the billion-tier templates didn't seem much stronger than the hundred-million ones.

"Let's try using it on myself, then."

Ren closed his eyes and activated Duplication Technique on himself.

From the outside, his body shimmered along the bridge of his nose, light streaming outward as his form split and wavered.

Then—three Rens stood side by side.

All of them moved under his control… yet they, too, were illusions.

"Forget it. I wasn't expecting much anyway."

He shook his head, shelving his hopes for later.

Ren glanced at the Dimensional Roulette.

{Chip Balance: 1.2 Billion}

The team funds were plentiful, and there was nothing else worthwhile to gamble on.

So he drew again—though luck had probably dipped a little.

Still, he had a Lucky Charm.

He initiated a Sea Offering, tossing in the Pseudo–Cursed Blade: Thousand Edge as the sacrifice.

[Sea Offering Judgement: Success!]

[Interesting choice, but usable only once.]

[Fulfillment – Activated!]

"Something useful for me," Ren murmured, making a broad wish before spinning again.

This time, instead of ten rolls, he chose five.

{Obtained – Blank Land Card}

{Obtained – Synthesis Scroll}

{Obtained – Teleporter}

{Obtained – Land Card Enhancement}

{Obtained – Weather Magic: Storm Day}

The last one seemed like an upgraded version of Thunderstorm Magic.

He opened the new description:

[Weather Magic: Storm Day]

Origin:Magical Dimension

Type: Magic

Effect: Designate an area within 10 km of perception range. Consumes 15 Mana Crystals to summon Storm Day weather. The weather lasts 12 hours, with lingering effects for another 12. This weather brings violent winds, dark skies, and magically-induced lightning surges—raising the chance of lightning strikes exponentially. Compared to Thunderstorm Magic, the strength of the resulting lightning is amplified twentyfold.

Cost: Mana Crystals

"A high-tier upgrade? Not bad. Back in Alabasta, when I used Thunder Spear with Nami's weather manipulation, the charged lightning strike was barely a hundred meters wide—and that was after long buildup."

"With Storm Day, the thunder system just got a massive boost."

Satisfied, Ren continued reviewing the other rewards.

The Synthesis Scroll was self-explanatory—a very handy tool.

But the other three prizes sparked his imagination.

Two cards of unknown material, and a large mechanical device about two meters tall, floating within a sphere of light.

It looked like a giant battery with the middle core removed, leaving only the upper and lower bases.

The description, however, proved it was far more than that.

[Teleporter]

Origin:Lethal Company

Type: Unknown Construct

Effect: After registering an individual in the terminal, it locks onto them and displays their coordinates on the linked monitor.When the button is pressed, after a 3-second channel, the designated individual is instantly teleported to the Teleporter's platform.

Cost: —

"Teleportation, huh?"

Ren scratched his head—useful indeed.

Although it required manual operation, there were no range limitations mentioned.

The radius likely exceeded one or even ten kilometers.

He'd need to test it later.

The two cards, however, seemed more mysterious.

[Blank Land Card]

Origin: Unknown Dimension

Type: Planeswalker Artifact

Effect: A construct derived from Magic: The Gathering's planeswalker system—the foundation of all magic power. Land cards represent sources of mana, each embodying a realm: Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, or Forest. Blank Land Cards contain no preset content; the user must capture an external "world element" to define them. For instance, capturing a magma river creates a Fire-type Land Card, producing Fire Mana—while the real magma vanishes. Capturing air yields a Wind-type Land Card, producing Wind Mana, though with limited scope.

Cost: None

[Land Card Enhancement]

Origin: Unknown Dimension

Type: Planeswalker Artifact

Effect: Land cards are the cornerstones of the planeswalker system; advanced planeswalkers may craft one-use Enhancement Cards to boost a land's capture ability. Enhanced Land Cards can absorb extraordinary phenomena—Rumor says that a Blank Land Card enhanced three times can capture temporal anomalies in reality, forming a rare Time-type Land Card. Although actual Time Cards are extremely scarce, they can serve as Time-type materials.

Cost: None

"Hmm… can't think of a use for that right now."

Ren frowned slightly. His best idea was to deploy the Magic Circle: Thunder Draw in the New World's lightning zone and convert it into a Land Card.

He could then place it inside the Barracks Module as an energy source.

Whether it would be worth it was another matter.

As for triple enhancement… he doubted he'd ever find a real "time anomaly."

Or… wait.

Ren froze mid-thought.

In the world of One Piece, there was a place where time flowed abnormally!

But where?

He concentrated, digging through memory.

Not in the New World, nor Sabaody Archipelago…

The art style in his recollection felt much earlier in the timeline.

"After Alabasta, but before Skypiea and Mock Town? No—before that!"

"Yes! The Rainbow Mist! That old island legend!"

He recalled it at last.

The Rainbow Mist—a natural time vortex phenomenon, existing as a rare temporal anomaly. Time inside it flowed differently from the outside world. Outside decades could pass, while inside, barely a year.

He couldn't recall every detail, but the key was clear.

He remembered it because of Nico Robin's scene—when she touched a jewel inside a treasure chest and was instantly weakened by the Seastone content within.

That had happened during the Rainbow Mist arc!

"Rainbow Mist… a Time-type material."

Ren grinned, holding the Synthesis Scroll as ideas flooded his mind. "Helmet of Imagination… Training Recorder… a time-adjustable training machine?"

"No—why stop there? The Synthesis Scroll still has several empty slots. I can do better!"

His expression began to shift.

If it worked as he envisioned, his dream was within reach.

Because the greatest obstacle to growth—time itself—could soon be solved.

"Calm down! It's only a possibility!"

Ren slapped both cheeks hard, steadying his excitement.

He only needed two more Land Card Enhancements to reach triple reinforcement.

Two hundred million Beli wasn't a problem.

He quickly began his next step, taking one of the two Enchanting Tables from the team's setup.

Then he used the Lucky Charm to begin another Sea Offering, sacrificing the table as tribute.

[Sea Offering Judgement: Great Success!]

[A fascinating system indeed.]

[Fulfillment – Activated!]

Ren immediately made his wish.

The Golden Roulette spun again, five radiant beams shooting forth.

{Obtained – Land Card Enhancement}

{Obtained – Land Card Enhancement}

{Obtained – Dimensional Zipper}

{Obtained – Doctor's Backpack}

{Obtained – Synthesis Scroll}

Another Synthesis Scroll, but more importantly, the two Enhancements were secured.

And the remaining two rewards perfectly fit his needs.

A simple-looking zipper and a machine the size of a briefcase—both from the Doraemon world.

Anyone who had seen Doraemon as a child knew how overpowered those gadgets were.

[Doctor's Backpack]

Origin:Doraemon

Type: Rule-Type Gadget

Effect: A medical backpack capable of diagnosing any illness and producing appropriate medication. Originally intended for curing simple 21st-century diseases, but due to its advanced technology, it can heal nearly all ailments below the brain.

Cost: None

[Dimensional Zipper]

Origin:Doraemon

Type: Rule-Type Gadget

Effect: Attach it to any surface and unzip—it opens into a four-dimensional pocket space.

Cost: None

This draw was almost perfect.

Space and medical support—both now secured.

For the final slot, whatever he added hardly mattered.

"All that's left is for the Synthesis Scroll to truly handle temporal fusion. If it can't… I'll be at a huge loss."

Ren carefully stored all the items inside the Four-Dimensional Chrysanthemum space, and sheathed the Cursed Blade: Thousand Edge into his inventory.

{Chip Balance: 200 Million}

A pitiful number—back to square one overnight.

Still, the resources from Skypiea would soon arrive.

Ren checked the Barracks Module and then left to test his new powers.

Passing by the second-floor bathroom, he caught the sound of running water.

His footsteps faltered. On his shoulders, a tiny devil and angel appeared.

"Go take a peek," whispered the little devil, grinning wickedly.

"It's just a test run for Invisibility, right?"

The white-winged angel clutched her fork, nodding fervently."Yeah, yeah! Exactly!"

He smirked.
