"I'm driving right now." Archibald stepped on the brake and waited at a red light.
"I was supposed to leave at two, but… something came up and delayed me. Sorry." He didn't want to mention Ned—he was afraid it would worry her.
"It's okay. As long as you're on your way, I'll wait for you."
"Got it. I'll be there soon!" He put the phone away. The light turned green, and he immediately pressed the accelerator.
Because he was in such a rush while driving, Archibald didn't notice that a car had been tailing him the entire way.
When he finally arrived, it was only five minutes before three.
Sophie was already waiting at the entrance. "Archibald!"
After parking the car properly, Archibald jogged over in long strides.
"Sorry—am I late?"
"No, but we need to fill out the forms first."
"Your hand? What happened to your hand? How did you get hurt?" He noticed the bandage wrapped around Sophie's wrist and anxiously took her hand to examine it.
