The car pulled up to the restaurant entrance. Ned raised an eyebrow. "Here?"
"Yeah, right here!"
"You deliberately brought me here to eat. Is the food especially good, or is there something… different about the people here?" His words carried a hidden meaning.
Archibald pulled up the handbrake and opened the door to get out. "Come on, don't be so cynical. This place is super popular right now—super hard to get a reservation. Let's go!"
Ned gave a small smile and got out of the car as well.
Archibald walked in first. He scanned the front hall and the main dining area but didn't see Sophie. Guessing she was probably in the kitchen, he casually picked a table and sat down.
Ned followed him in and took the seat opposite Archibald. He glanced around the entire restaurant once—no sign of Sophie. Then he narrowed his eyes and began studying the way Archibald's gaze kept flickering nervously.
