The sensation cut through my anger, replacing it with something gentler. Exactly what I needed right now. I turned in the direction of the pull and followed it through the less crowded streets.
He was nearby, somewhere. I hoped he wasn't too preoccupied with something. Even if he was, I think I would be just fine with seeing him. It would take my mind off those two idiots' faces.
That night where I lost my life flashed in my mind again and I forced myself to swallow down the rising bitterness I felt.
The pull grew stronger the closer I got… until something felt… off.
My steps slowed.
Something was wrong.
The bond was there. I could feel it clearly, but the sensation wasn't quite right at the same time. Like it had been altered somehow.
I frowned and shook my head. Maybe I was just confused. My head was a mess, and seeing Elena today with that wolf had merely unlocked some unpleasant memories and affected my senses a little.
