Before I could respond, his mouth was on mine.
A deliberate soft, lingering press of lips that shocked me with its tenderness. He held it for a heartbeat, two, then pulled away just far enough that I felt the loss like a physical ache.
I opened my eyes, not sure when I had closed them, and found his eyes locked on me, dark, fierce, and strangely gentle.
Then he kissed me again. Another brief, searing press of lips that stole my breath.
And again.
Each kiss was a slow buildup that sent a thrumming sensation through me. My hands found his chest, fingers curling into the front of his shirt as he kissed me once more, lingering this time. His kiss grew firmer as his tongue swept across my lower lip in a silent request.
I parted for him without thinking.
The kiss deepened instantly, turning thorough and possessive. His hand tightened at the back of my head and my knees threatened to fold as if my legs had turned into water.
