Chapter 118 - Angels of the Emperor Walk Among Men

A Planet was suffering an Infestation by the Tyranid Swarm.

In Space, several Tyranid Bio-Ships hovered like giant Predators, constantly spewing green Drop Pods onto the Surface.

The Planetary Orbital Defense System was firing at full power at the Tyranid Fleet.

On the Surface, the Swarm forces had scaled up; a tide of countless Hormagaunts was assaulting the last Line of Defense.

The City Center Plaza was crowded with panicked Residents, carrying small Bags, holding crying Children, and frantically running toward the Spaceship Evacuation Point.

"Hurry! Don't look back!" an Astra Militarum Officer frantically directed the Evacuation.

In the Sky, green Light Spots kept falling like poisoned Rain. The Drop Pods burst open upon hitting the ground, and swarms of Tyranids poured out.

Led by Warrior Bugs, they mercilessly harvested all Life with their sharp Talons and Bone Blades.

"Hold the Line! Hold on for five more Minutes!" The Defense Commander gritted his Teeth and ordered.

An Old Veteran ran out of Ammunition. He drew his Combat Knife, his Eyes flashing with fierce Determination.

"For Humanity!" he roared, charging into the Swarm, followed by his equally determined Comrades.

The Blade severed the head of the first Hormagaunt, but snapped upon impact.

Without hesitation, he picked up a Tyranid Bone Blade from the ground and continued the Fight.

Blood quickly stained his Armor and the Ground beneath his Feet.

The Line of Defense was rapidly collapsing, the screams of Residents intertwining with the hissing of the Tyranids.

At the Evacuation Point, a Father put his Wife and Children onto the last Civilian Spaceship, then turned around.

"Daddy!" The little Girl cried out, reaching out her Hand.

The Father fought back Tears and kissed his Wife and Daughter's Foreheads.

"I have to help, so more people can survive."

He drew the homemade Firearm from his Waist and, without looking back, rushed straight into that Desperate Battlefield.

Spaceships lifted off one after another, but a large number of Tyranid Units waited in Space.

At the Ground Command Center, the Officers had grave faces.

"The Swarm is too numerous; we can't hold out much longer."

"The Evacuation Spaceships can only take away one-third of the Civilians."

"Damn it, why hasn't Reinforcement arrived yet?"

A Communicator suddenly exclaimed, "Sir! A large number of Unidentified Signals have appeared in Space!"

The Commander rushed toward the Monitoring Screen, frowning deeply: "More Tyranid Reinforcement?"

"No, the Signal Characteristics are completely different from the Tyranids! They're... they're Attacking the Tyranid Bio-Ships!"

In Space, a massive Fleet suddenly leaped out of a Wormhole; a Torrent of Steel composed of countless Warships plunged directly into the Tyranid Fleet.

The Main Guns of the gigantic Warships fired simultaneous Volleys; several Tyranid Bio-Ships were instantly ripped to pieces.

On the Ground Battlefield, people felt the Sky obscured by the Tyranids momentarily brighten.

Soon after, they saw countless Black Dots descending from the Air. The Black Dots grew larger and finally smashed heavily into the Battlefield.

What was astonishing was that despite raising a huge cloud of Dust, they caused no damage to the Terrain, thanks to the Golden Horse Shoe.

As the Dust cleared, the Battlefield was filled with Giants clad in Blue Power Armor.

'Did we just poke an Ultramarines Hive?!'

Behind them, dozens of Emperor-class Titans, hundreds of Meters tall, slowly advanced, the Ground trembling slightly under their Footsteps.

An Ultramarine Captain in Exquisite Power Armor stood at the forefront. He raised his Chainsword and pointed toward the Swarm.

"Brothers, purge these Xenos!"

"For the Emperor! For Humanity!" The Ultramarines roared in unison.

The Ultramarines then transformed into streaks of Blue Lightning and charged into the Swarm. The Power Armor's amplified Strength allowed every strike to easily tear through the Tyranids' Carapace.

One Warrior lifted a Hormagaunt with one Hand and ripped it in half, Blood splattering onto his Faceplate.

Another Warrior's shoulder-mounted Heavy Bolter continuously fired; every Bullet could pierce through several Tyranids.

The Titans advanced with heavy Steps, their Artillery reducing swarms of Tyranids to Ash.

One Titan grabbed a huge Warrior Bug, lifted it above its Head, and violently slammed it onto the Ground, green Body Fluid splashing everywhere.

"Look over there!" a Civilian pointed toward the Sky.

More Wormholes opened high above, and several War Planets slowly sailed out, their Main Guns aimed at the Tyranid Bio-Ships.

Blinding Beams of Light tore through Space; the Tyranid Fleet targeted by the Gun Ports was instantly Vaporized.

On the Ground Battlefield, the Ultramarines advanced with overwhelming Superiority.

A Warrior Bug attempted to ambush an Ultramarine, but he turned swiftly and ran his Chainsword through its Head.

On the edge of the Plaza, an aged Worker trembled, pointing his Finger at the massive Figure that had appeared in the Sky. When the Blue Power Armor Warriors appeared, he actually knelt on the Ground, Tears streaming uncontrollably.

"The Angels of the Emperor... they are truly the Angels of the Emperor!" he choked out.

The reaction of the surrounding People turned from Astonishment to Cheers. A Child stood on his Father's Shoulders, his small Hand pointing at the three-meter-tall Blue Giants, his Eyes gleaming with Adoration.

"Daddy, they're so handsome! I want to be just like them when I grow up!"

More Civilians crawled out of the Rubble. They ignored their Wounds and Dust, rushing to witness these legendary Angels of the Emperor.

"The Emperor protect us! We are saved!" a Mother hugged her Child, sobbing uncontrollably.

The Ultramarines charged into the Tyranid Army, their organized Footsteps crushing the Earth. The collision of their Metal Armor with the solid Ground created a sound that chilled the Enemy.

Their built-in System scanned the Tyranid Army; massive amounts of Data flashed on the Display Screens inside their Faceplates.

Life Signs, Weakness Analysis, Optimal Attack Paths—everything was precisely calculated.

Their gaze toward the Tyranids was as cold as if looking at Trash. The Xenos that once struck fear into the entire Imperium were merely Scum waiting to be cleaned up in their Eyes.

The Communication Channel contained only brief Tactical Codes exchanges, no Roaring, no Fear, only calm Efficiency and precise Orders.

Coordinated Battle Mode between Squads had been activated, with lines of Tactical Data silently transmitted between the Warriors.

The Astra Militarum Soldiers watched all this dumbfounded. The Elite Warriors who were fighting a losing Battle moments ago now had their Weapons hanging down due to Shock.

This was not the way they knew how to fight; this was the Art of War that completely surpassed human Cognition.

"Oh my God..." a Lieutenant took off his Blood-Stained Helmet. He couldn't believe his Eyes. "How did they do that?"

A charging Tyranid Squad was instantly torn apart in front of the Ultramarines. Blue Energy Beams pierced through their Carapace as if through Paper.

The Bolters in the Ultramarines' Hands shimmered with Blue Energy Light; Rune Circuits on the Gun Body lit up with every shot.

These were no longer ordinary Bolters but Infinitely Enchanted Bolters personally blessed by the God-Emperor's Power. It was the perfect combination of Technology and Magic.

The Power of Infinite Enchantment ensured a continuous supply of Ammunition.

The Tyranids were also experiencing the feeling of being suppressed by sheer Numbers for the first time, and their favored Tyranid Swarm Tactics were like a Joke under the blessing of Infinite Bullets.

The Captain raised his Hand to signal; the entire Squad immediately adjusted its Formation, surrounding a massive Warrior Bug. Its sharp Bone Blade gleamed with cold Light in the Sunlight.

The Warrior Bug let out a screeching Wail, trying to intimidate the Enemy.

The Ultramarines' response was over a dozen Bolter Rounds simultaneously hitting its Joints.

The Tyranid's enormous Body crashed down, its Limbs twitching weakly. A Warrior stepped forward, plunging his Chainsword into its Head. Green Blood poured out.

"Cleanup complete, continue the advance." The Captain's voice remained calm, as if he had just dealt with a trivial matter.

Several Astra Militarum Soldiers tried to join the Battle but found they couldn't keep up with the Ultramarines' Rhythm and Efficiency at all. They eventually chose to retreat, making Space for these Superhumans.

These were the Angels of the Emperor; they didn't come to participate in the War, they came to End the War.
