Chapter 124 - CH 125 Don't have plans

Bored, Layana sat on the couch in her her room. She felt so lonely these days. Her brother Zayden disappears like crazy...into the human world. Rarely has her time since he found something more interesting. While her brother Ryan is not even here. Her father...long story. He's too busy with kingdom affairs. General Mathias, has been avoiding her lately. She's so bored.

A knock came on her door, and she lazily said "Come in"

The door opened and a demon in black suit walked in. "Your highness," he bowed. "I got more news"

"Tell me"

The demon told her and she gasped in surprised. "Are you sure of what you're saying?"

"Yes, your highness" he answered.

"Wow.. interesting" she breathed out. "Do you know if the Prince is around?" she asked.

"Yes, the Prince is in his Manor"

"I'll go see him then" she hurriedly stood up and left excitingly. Once she reached his house, she knocked and he answered. She pushed the door open and walked in.

"Brother!!" she exclaimed "You won't believe what I found" her smiles faded when she saw he was all dressed.

"A-are you going somewhere?" she asked.

"Yes" Zayden replied, and her lips pursed.

"Y'know, you've been a bad brother these days" she told him.

"Bad brother? How, Yana?"

"You don't have my time anymore. Always disappearing to meet her" she yelled, and his brows creased.

"Her? Who are you talking about?" Zayden questioned.

"You know who I'm talking about. The human woman you've meeting with" she answered, glaring at him.

"How did you know? Did you have me followed?"

"Oh no! Why would I?" she scratched her hair.

"Stop that, Yana. I don't like it when you do that" he spoke firmly and her lips pursed even more.

"Sorry" she walked to the couch and sat down, frowning. "But brother, she's human" she told him.

"I know. So?"

"You can't possibly be with her"

"Who says I can't?"

"You know what happened to father and brother Ryan's mother. Do you want that to happen to you?"

"That was in the past. What happened to father can't possibly happen to me"

"The probabilities are very fat. Do you want her to suffer?" Zayden looked away. He knew loving her was dangerous. She might suffer. No. He would never make the mistake of bringing her here.

"She won't suffer" he stated.

Layana leaned back on the couch and sighed "You're unbelievable" she said. "Does she even know what you are?" she threw the question and Zayden stiffened, his jaws clenching.

"She doesn't" he replied, his voice low.

Layana gasped "What happens when she finds out?"

"Who would tell her?" his eyes blazed, and again, she gasped.

"You don't have plans on doing that? Ah... I see" she nodded her head slowly. "But you see, what happened to father can't possibly happen to you" she stated. And he knew what that meant. Jana might not accept him for who he is. He's a demon, and she doesn't like them. Perhaps, hate them.

He sighed, "What is it you found that you came to gossip about?" he changed the topic.

"It's not gossiping. I'm informing you" she stood up from the couch and went to sit with him. "It's about the general..."

"Suddenly want to talk about him, huh..." a smirk crawled up his face. He was ready to tease, but she ignore that.

"The thing is... General Mathias is the son of Duke Choi Su Jin" she whispered, and his eyes went wide.

"Where did you hear that?" he questioned.

"I spied on him." she replied, and he nodded. Knowing it was her hobby. "The spy had seen him calling the Duke 'father' once"

"I thought he said he had no family"

"I thought so too. We've been fooled. Why do think they hid it from everyone one?"

"It could only mean one thing. They want the throne through you, Yana." Zayden said "If you give in and get married to him, then...they would get the throne"

"That means they also want you out of the way" Yana spoke, and then she gasped "Brother, you're in danger!"

A smirk crawled up his face, his eyes gleamed dangerously "Sweet" was all he said.

"This is a serious case. I think I need to lock you up in here, to keep you safe. I don't want to lose you, brother" she feigned cries.

"Oh, Yana. Nothing would happen. Your brother is so strong, so there's no need to cry, okay?" she blinked her eyes, forcing tears to roll out of her eyes. But they betrayed her.

"I'll be on my way now, Yana" he made his way to the door. "See if father knows about this."

"Brother, wait..." he already left. Leaving her all alone. Again.

*..*..*..*..*

Ryan was working diligently, surprisingly. A frown settled between his brows. He heard the door open and close, but was too busy to lift his head. The door opened and closed again, and after a while, it opened and closed. Again. He could perceive her scent, so he didn't need to lift his head. His gaze was only locked on the screen of his computer.

And then, a bottle of wine hit his desk. He finally lifted his head and his eyes met a sharp, icy glare. He flinched. Ari's lips were pursed, and her face red.

He blinked "W-what's wrong?" he asked.

"Do you love me or you love your computer?" she questioned. Her voice rugged, but cute. He blinked.

"Of course, it's you.." he answered.

"I don't think so. You love your computer more than me..."

"No, that's not.."

"You didn't even cut my cake with me. You've been spending time on this. You don't care about me" she grumbled.

Ryan pressed his lips into a thin line "That's not true, Aria" he stood up "I care about you a lot"

"Then why won't you celebrate my birthday with me?" she pursed her lips that had turned red from the wine.

"I'm sorry, but your boyfriend is very busy" he said.

Aria pursed her lips even more, looking like she was going to cry. And then she gulped down the wine in the glass.

"Bad boyfriend" she said and turned away. Ryan watched her dropped the bottle of wine on the table in the room, and then she walked back to him. She pulled him by his arm to the couch, making him sit. And then surprisingly, she sat on his lap. Ryan blinked repeatedly. Did she just sit on his lap willingly?

Aria picked a piece of cake and brought it to his mouth, smiling silly. "Eat" she told him, and he did while looking in her eyes. He chewed on it slowly, gazing deeply at her. She blushed. Her already flushed face grew more red.

"Is it sweet?" she asked.

"Yes" he answered, and she smiled more, her eyes turning crescents. She picked another piece and fed him, and he easily obliged. She then picked a piece of chicken and brought it to his mouth.

"Ahh..." he opened his mouth and bit the chicken, and she kept urging him to eat more. She stuffed his mouth and he really having a hard time. But he had to do this. He didn't want to make her angry. The side of his lips got stained with the chicken sauce so she wiped it off. He blinked twice. Not understanding how suddenly she got the boldness to do that.

"Now, you're a good boyfriend" she told him, smiling like crazy.
