Aurora's POV
Stefano's story filled me with both pride and sadness. Pride that he'd handled the situation so decisively, exposing Marcus and Beatrice to the entire pack. Sadness that my own sister had fallen so deeply into jealousy and manipulation.
"She confessed?" I asked quietly. "Beatrice actually admitted she poisoned me?"
"Yes." Stefano took my hand. "Though she claims she didn't mean for you to die, only to get sick enough to delay the ceremony."
"And you believe her?"
He hesitated. "I believe she believes it. But Aurora, the poison she used was deadly. Whether she intended murder or not, she's responsible for your death."
I looked away, processing. Somewhere in the empty spaces where my memories should be, there were feelings, echoes of love for a sister I couldn't remember. But they were faint, distant.
"What happens to her now?" I asked.
