"Damn it, what exactly was that thing?"
Mihawk still stared tightly at the direction that sun-like thing had disappeared in, his face turning dark and pale by turns. "Could it be a secret weapon developed by the World Government?"
Although that strange thing had already vanished from sight, he still stared in that direction and fell into deep thought.
He certainly didn't believe something that glowed and had rings of light around it was a ship.
But if it was a World Government secret weapon, then why attack him for no reason?
At this moment…
"Purururu!"
The Den Den Mushi suddenly rings, pulling him out of his thoughts. He directly took the Den Den Mushi out of his coat and said calmly, "Hello?"
"Hahaha, Mihawk, where are you right now?"
A familiar voice came from the other side. "Someone said they saw you enter the New World? We're about to hold a banquet, want to come join?"
"No!"
Mihawk raised an eyebrow when he heard it was just for a banquet. But after speaking expressionlessly, he seemed to recall something and added, "Forget it, I actually have something to ask you. Where are you guys?"
"You wanted to ask something? What is it?"
Mihawk: "..."
Faced with Shanks's curious question, Mihawk fell silent and didn't answer immediately.
But moments later, he exhaled softly and said in a serious tone: "Has the World Government been developing some kind of secret weapon recently?"
"Secret weapon? What are you talking about?"
Shanks sounded confused, yet curious. "Aren't those guys always researching secret weapons capable of destroying everything? Why bring this up suddenly?"
"You're right."
Mihawk wasn't surprised by Shanks's reply; researching secret weapons really wasn't anything unusual for the World Government.
After pondering a bit more, the scene he had witnessed resurfaced in his mind. He spoke: "Is there any secret weapon related to the sun?"
"The sun?"
Shanks paused, then asked seriously: "Did you find out something?"
"Nothing, it's just..."
Mihawk paused a moment before continuing: "I was just attacked at sea by something that looked like the sun."
"Something like the sun attacked you? You were attacked? Are you hurt?"
"No, I dodged in time."
"Did you see clearly what it was?"
"A sun."
"...?"
What the heck?
Shanks was stunned, but before he could ask further, Mihawk spoke again, voice serious: "It was like the sun running across the sea, it's extremely fast!"
"A sun, huh."
Shanks's face also grew serious, but after going through his memories, he still couldn't think of any sun-related weapon.
But he didn't think Mihawk would lie about something like this.
Could it really be the World Government's newly completed secret weapon?
But why attack Mihawk? And judging by things, Mihawk seemed fine!
Only after a moment did Shanks speak again: "I don't know either, but it shouldn't be the World Government's secret weapon. Right now, the World Government wouldn't provoke you guys lightly."
Then he added helplessly: "Two Warlords have been defeated in a row, the Marine Headquarters is already having a headache. If the strongest swordsman in the world was defeated too, the seas would plunge into chaos again."
"For them, stabilizing the situation now is already difficult enough. Besides, something happened on Punk Hazard a few days ago, and the Marine Headquarters and World Government are both troubled by it! They wouldn't declare war on the Warlords at a time like this. As for being related to the sun..."
He paused, then added with a cheerful tone: "There was one recent case, West Blue's retired Lieutenant, Ian. That guy is now called the God of Sun by some strong people in the New World!"
"The God of Sun? That West Blue's powerhouse who defeated an Admiral?"
"Hahaha, that's right, that's him. Quite an amusing title, isn't it? Someone really dared to call him that?"
Shanks nodded.
Knowing certain secrets, he didn't believe that guy was truly the Sun God.
So he simply considered the title amusing, and also wanted to see what reaction the World Government would have once the title spread, and what those ambitious people would do.
And perhaps this would attract those people's attention and buy more time.
"You're not saying he ran into you, right?"
"No, that's impossible."
As a top-tier powerhouse on the sea, Mihawk has his own pride. But he still nodded. "I understand."
"Thanks for telling me all this. Maybe it really was a World Government's secret weapon. Don't worry, when I have time, I'll go investigate the World Government and see if there are any findings."
Shanks resumed his cheerful tone. "So then, are you coming to the banquet?"
"... Where are you?"
Mihawk was silent for a moment, but still asked for Shanks's location.
After receiving it, he hung up without hesitation, put away the Den Den Mushi, and continued staring in the direction that the sun had disappeared, brow furrowed, eyes full of curiosity and seriousness.
Then he muttered, "Ian, the God of Sun, huh?"
He couldn't wait to witness it for himself.
Meanwhile, elsewhere…
Still unaware that he had gained a new title and that it was even the God of the Sun, Ian continued steering the ship toward Ohara.
Sometimes flying through the sky, sometimes gliding across the sea, with such extreme speed, the ship had already passed through the Calm Belt and entered the West Blue.
After their initial panic, Law and the others calmed down once they realized there was no danger.
But seeing the speed of the ship, their eyes were still filled with astonishment.
This ship... No, it should be called the Sun Ring; it was truly fast!
Time passed bit by bit.
Just as Ian entered the sea area near the Ohara…
"Purururu!"
His Den Den Mushi rang.
As soon as he said hello, the voice on the other side spoke with a serious tone: "Ian, I'm leaving the West Blue."
Ian: "...?"
Hearing the sound from the Den Den Mushi in his hand, Ian raised an eyelid and casually said, "What, your embezzlement got discovered?"
"Damn it, when did I ever embezzle?"
The Den Den Mushi instantly flared up and snorted angrily. "Let me tell you, kid, there's no base commander in the entire West Blue cleaner than me. I only took a few bottles of your wine and kept a bit of treasure from pirates. And those pirates were all caught by me personally."
"That's exactly what embezzlement is."
Ian didn't give his former superior any face, though it was clearly just a joke.
