Chapter 110: A Day of Missing Ganyu

After Ace finished devouring the entire scorpion claw, the trio embarked on their desert journey once more.

They walked for about half an hour before Ganyu stopped in her tracks.

"I've recovered enough. I should be able to fly all the way to the Royal Palace in one go now."

It had been over an hour since they arrived in Alabasta. Ganyu had been silently recovering her elemental energy along the way.

With her energy restored, there was naturally no need to continue on foot.

Alabasta's territory was vast—far larger than any island they had landed on before. If they were to walk from the desert to the capital, Alubarna, at a standard pace, it would likely take several days.

Vivi looked pleasantly surprised and was just about to ask Ganyu to carry her again when she suddenly realized there was another person present.

She looked at the young man beside her and hesitated. "But there are three of us now..."

"It's fine. You guys go ahead and fly; I have a way to keep up."

Ace chuckled lightly, tipping the brim of his hat as he looked out over the vast, dim yellow desert.

"It might be a bit loud, but since there's no one around, it shouldn't be a problem."

Hearing this, Ganyu paused, forming a guess in her mind.

He was a Logia-type user of the Flame-Flame Fruit; transforming into fire should indeed allow him to fly. She remembered seeing Ace use his abilities to fly in the original story.

Without further delay, she scooped Vivi up in one arm, tapped her toes lightly on the yellow sand, and leaped into the sky in a single bound.

Almost at the same moment, a torrent of flames erupted behind them. Like a surging wave of heat, it propelled Ace high into the air.

Orange-red flames traced a dazzling trajectory across the sky, following Ganyu and Vivi at a steady distance, jetting forward.

From below, it probably looked like nothing more than a vibrant streak of rosy clouds.

.....

Half a day later.

In the afternoon, a pirate ship flying the flag of a skull wearing a straw hat slowly sailed into a port city of Alabasta.

"Yo, we finally docked!"

A young boy wearing a straw hat sat on his special seat atop the figurehead. He spun around excitedly and shouted:

"Ganyu, let's go together..."

He stopped halfway through his sentence, freezing in place.

Behind him, the figure that usually stood there was gone. In her place was a green-haired man with two swords strapped to his waist.

"Sigh..."

Luffy hung his head, his entire aura deflating instantly.

"Do you have to be so disappointed to see me?!!" Zoro crossed his arms, his face darkening as he snapped grumpily.

"With Ganyu not on the ship, it feels like something is missing," Luffy said dejectedly. He looked as if he had lost even his appetite, slumping over the figurehead, his body dangling limply.

"Yeah. My heart feels empty. It's really uncomfortable." Nami nodded, feeling the same way.

Leaning against the railing and looking at the port, she couldn't muster her usual excitement for exploring a new island.

"Losing both Ganyu-san and Vivi-chan at the same time... my heart hurts so much! I'm so lonely!" Sanji lay on the railing, smoking listlessly, his expression exceptionally melancholic.

"Heart hurts?" Chopper heard the keywords and immediately grabbed his medical kit. "Sanji, let me check you!"

"Sigh, her absence makes me feel so insecure that I'm even a little afraid to get off the ship." Usopp nodded heavily, speaking as if it were a serious matter.

As soon as he said this, everyone turned to look at him with disdain.

"That is clearly a problem you already had!"

The group scolded Usopp for a moment, but soon fell silent again.

The pirate ship gradually docked. Zoro lowered the sails by himself, adjusted the helm to park in a suitable spot, dropped the anchor to secure the ship... the metal chain rattling as it sank into the water.

After finishing his rounds, he found the crew still standing dazedly on the deck, looking like they had collectively lost their souls.

He frowned, speaking with some impatience.

"She's only been gone for half a day. Do you really need to be this miserable?"

"Bastard! You don't care about Miss Ganyu at all!" Sanji shouted angrily, his cigarette nearly falling out of his mouth.

"Yeah, exactly. Zoro is too much," Luffy pouted, looking at him with disgust.

He turned his face away to show his dissatisfaction with Zoro.

"You were the first one to be with Ganyu, yet you don't seem close to her at all," Nami huffed coldly, arms crossed over her chest.

Usopp and Chopper, who had integrated quickly, also muttered a few complaints.

For a moment, Zoro was overwhelmed by the group's accusations. He opened his mouth, but it took him a while to squeeze out a rebuttal.

"What do you mean I don't care? My sword is with her, didn't you see?"

He was referring to the fact that he had specifically given Wado Ichimonji to Ganyu before she left.

Didn't that show his concern?

"So what? do you think Miss Ganyu is like you, a muscle-brained brute who would use such a crude weapon to hack at people? With her gentle and kind nature, a bow is what suits her best!" Sanji shouted unconvinced.

Before Ganyu left, he had carefully prepared a backpack for her.

It was filled with various items, and the thought put into it definitely surpassed that of this moss-head.

Thinking of this, Sanji couldn't help but recall the little surprise he had packed for Ganyu.

She must have found it by now. Maybe she's even wearing it... I really want to see what she looks like in it.

At this thought, Sanji began to giggle foolishly.

Beside him, Chopper became even more convinced that Sanji was sick and clamored to give him a blood test.

"Who says she can't use a sword? That woman isn't as simple as you think. Her skill with a sword might not be any worse than with a bow!"

Zoro argued urgently.

Given the strength, speed, and precision the horned woman displayed daily—as well as her mastery over weapons and control of force—she was absolutely a prime candidate for swordsmanship.

He was certain that if given a sword, she would likely display a fighting style completely different from her usual self, one far more destructive.

He was actually looking forward to seeing that.

However, aside from him, no one else on the ship used a sword. They expressed their distrust of his theory and ignored him completely.

In their hearts, Ganyu would forever be the elegant and gentle figure wielding an ice bow. She had absolutely nothing to do with Zoro's style of hacking and slashing.

The group began discussing disembarking.

"Let's go. Let's get off the ship and find a restaurant to eat." Luffy finally perked up a little, his stomach growling right on cue.

"I'll go look around. Maybe I can find some interesting tools," Usopp added.
