Chapter 75: Nico Robin
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Ganyu, and my current position on this ship is probably... the captain's secretary?"
Ganyu saw her turn her head and gave her a gentle, friendly smile.
"Could you introduce yourself, Miss black-haired lady who boarded someone else's pirate ship without permission?"
As she spoke, she seemingly casually patted the air beside her. A few wisps of cold air swept past. Several arms that had just bizarrely grown from the railing and her shoulder, intending to restrain her, were instantly covered in frost. Then, with a crack, they shattered into sparkling ice fragments and dissipated.
Robin let out an almost imperceptible grunt, and her hands trembled slightly. Real fear appeared in her eyes for the first time.
She had just tried to use her Hana Hana no Mi ability in a preemptive strike, but not only was she instantly detected, the cold air directly destroyed her ability's creations.
Too strong. It wasn't just the Devil Fruit ability, but also that terrifying sense of pressure. It even gave her the illusion that this woman was in no way inferior to that man.
"Huh? Who's Ganyu talking to? When did we get a black-haired woman on our ship?"
"A woman? Where? Wow, what a beautiful black-haired lady!"
"Hey, hey, a woman who suddenly appears on our ship like this has to be an enemy, right?"
On the deck, Luffy, Usopp, and Sanji finally noticed this sudden "guest."
"She...!"
Princess Vivi's pupils suddenly contracted. She looked up at the black-haired woman in disbelief and cried out:
"Ms. All Sunday! Why... why are you here?!!"
"Ms. All Sunday? Sounds like she's also from Baroque Works. So who's her partner?"
"Her partner is Mr. 0, the secret boss of Baroque Works."
Vivi took a deep breath, trying to calm her shock, and explained: "Actually, she's the only one who knew the identity of the Baroque Works' boss. We followed her to confirm the boss's true identity."
"So, that means she's a good person," Luffy said, tilting his head and looking up at the two women. Seeing the scene above, he became even more convinced of his guess. Ganyu didn't freeze her, which must mean this woman is a good person.
"No!" Vivi shook her head firmly, her voice heavy. Her gaze locked onto Robin above. "She definitely has an ulterior motive. Igaram and I were most likely just tools for her."
During her two years of infiltrating Baroque Works, she knew that Ms. All Sunday, just like the boss, was a person shrouded in mystery. A person like that couldn't have helped them learn the boss's true identity out of a sudden bout of kindness.
"Is that so."
Hearing this, Luffy's eyes darted around. Then, he just opened his big mouth and yelled upward:
"Hey! What's your purpose? Can you tell us?"
If you have a question, just ask. Besides, she's right here on our ship.
Above, the frozen atmosphere between the two women was broken by Luffy's shout.
Ganyu chuckled lightly and said to Robin, whose body was still tense in front of her: "Ms. All Sunday, did you not hear our captain asking you a question?"
"Can I choose not to answer?" Robin said flatly, the wariness in her eyes not lessening in the slightest.
"Of course. Luffy won't give you a hard time." Ganyu nodded, and the invisible pressure around her slowly receded like a tide. This one was their future third female crewmate. She would most likely be sleeping in the same bed as her in the future. So it's better not to scare her too badly. What if this black-bellied big sister got revenge on her later?
"Phew..."
Feeling the terrifying pressure, like that of a deep-sea Sea King, lift from her, Robin couldn't help but sigh in relief. She slowly lowered the hands she had crossed in front of her, returning to her usual elegant and calm demeanor.
She took a deep look at the young woman before her, then turned around to face the people on the deck below. Her gaze swept past Zoro and Vivi, landing on the boy in the straw hat.
At this moment, she had a completely new, subversive understanding of this rookie pirate crew. A single crewmate could pressure her to the point of suffocation. Wouldn't this captain be even more unfathomable?
That guy, Crocodile, seemed to be in real trouble this time.
For a long time, Robin discarded the speech she had prepared earlier. She directly pulled an hourglass-shaped compass from her clothes and, with a flick of her wrist, threw it down to Luffy.
"This is an Eternal Pose pointing to an uninhabited island closest to Alabasta." Her lips parted slightly, her voice carrying a lazy magnetism. "With it, you can bypass the next island and reach the vicinity of your destination much faster."
"The next island?"
Luffy paused, looked at the Eternal Pose he had just caught, and asked in confusion: "Why do we have to avoid it?"
Robin smiled lightly. "Because the next island is called 'Little Garden.' It's an extremely dangerous island, and it takes an incredibly long time for a Log Pose to record its magnetism. If you sail there normally, you might not be able to leave for a whole year."
"A year?"
Hearing this exaggerated amount of time, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, and Usopp below were all startled. They all stared at the Eternal Pose in Luffy's hand. It seemed this pose was unexpectedly precious.
"That's great! I had a bad feeling about the next island!"
Nami clutched her chest and let out a long sigh, a relieved smile spreading across her face.
"With this pose, we can safely..."
As she spoke, she hurried over to Luffy, reaching out to take the precious Eternal Pose.
However.
Just as her fingertips were about to touch the pose, Luffy, with a blank expression, tightened his grip on it. Then, his five fingers squeezed hard.
Crack!
The Eternal Pose shattered, along with Nami's heart.
"Noooooo!"
Nami collapsed onto the deck, staring at the fragments in disbelief.
"Idiot! Why did you crush it!"
Luffy ignored her complaints and looked up, his eyes exceptionally serious.
"You don't get to decide this ship's course!"
When he said this, everyone present was shocked. Even Robin's eyes showed a peculiar emotion.
Before boarding this ship, she never thought this crew of rookies could shock her so much. A bold idea couldn't help but pop into her mind: A group of people like this... maybe they really do have a chance to overthrow Crocodile.
"Fine. Since you won't accept my favor, there's no need for me to stay here any longer."
Robin stared at Luffy for a long time, then gracefully stood up from the railing.
"I'll tell you one more thing. Pictures of everyone on your ship have been sent to Baroque Works. They've already dispatched agents stronger than Mr. 5 to intercept you."
After speaking, she glanced at the blue-haired young woman in front of her. Seeing that she had no intention of stopping her, Robin walked confidently toward the side of the ship.
As she passed the young woman, Robin's body trembled violently. She heard, with perfect clarity, a faint voice that only the two of them could hear:
"Nico Robin, we will meet again."
