Chapter 73 - Act.9 - Part 8 (End)

"Please let me go, Saki-san…" cried the maintenance security guard, begging Saki not to kill him like she had promised if he did everything she asked for.

Saki, meanwhile, remained quiet, tapping her foot impatiently while waiting for the elevator to come down.

She had indeed promised not to kill the handsome, muscular maintenance-san, as she liked to call him. But she at least wanted to keep him alive as her toy until she could get Nach—or rather, boyfriend-san.

However, maintenance-san's still-erect rod had already fallen off along with his balls, which she was holding in her left hand while dragging him with the other. That made him useless, like a gun without a bullet.

Right then, before the elevator could arrive at the ground floor, Saki heard a group of survivors coming down through the main stairwell—a group that had hidden on the lower floors until her undead horde passed by and were now trying to force their escape outside.

The instant the group of three salarymen reached the ground floor, they froze in fear, terrified not only by Saki dragging the naked maintenance security guard, but also by the undead horde swarming the ground-floor lobby to make sure no one would be able to escape outside.

They had three heads of girls they believed were the ones Saki was looking for. They had killed the man with them, and of course, had their way with the girls before killing and beheading them.

Their group could have gone to the rooftop to present their loot to Saki and claim the prize of their lives and escape by helicopter. But they didn't believe Saki would keep her word.

However, they had no choice now that they were standing face to face with the girl they could only assume was controlling the undead horde.

"We have what you're looking for!" shouted the cowardly one, raising his trembling left hand that held the severed head.

"So you better keep your word!" said the intimidating one, brandishing his knife like the other two to threaten Saki, unaware of her overwhelming strength.

"If you're looking for the man, he escaped from us on the 30th floor," added the one wearing glasses, trying to deceive Saki, believing she might kill them if she learned they had killed the man she wanted as her boyfriend.

Saki, of course, knew that Nach—together with everyone else—was trapped inside the room on the 28th floor, which was where she was heading to claim her prize. Still, she thought it would be fun to entertain the lie of her new toys.

—Ding!—

The elevator arrived, its alarm sounding as the doors opened.

"Let's go get your prize, misters~" Saki said, inviting the three salarymen with a cheerful, bloodstained smile as she stepped inside the empty elevator—though not before tossing the maintenance security guard and his rod toward her undead horde.

"Saki-san! This isn't—ARGH!"

Seeing a slim girl single-handedly toss a man into the air and watching him get devoured by the undead, none of the three salarymen dared to deny Saki's invitation.

They stepped inside the enclosed metal box that would become their grave, and the doors slid shut as if sealing a coffin.

When the doors opened again on the 28th floor, Saki stepped out holding knives in both hands—and of course, she wasn't alone, as her three new undead followed behind her.

The horde of undead swarming the hallway split apart, opening a path for their queen to walk toward the room where her desired king was hiding with the witches she planned to burn.

"HAHAHA~"

Saki laughed gleefully at the thought as she hopped forward with every step, leaving a trail of blood dripping from her blood-soaked uniform until she finally reached the door.

—BAMMM!—

A single kick was all it took for Saki to obliterate the door along with its barricade of cabinets, sofa, and bed.

"I'm here now, boyfriend-san~"

She stepped inside the room, calling for Nach, only to find no one there—not in the bedroom, nor the bathroom. Surely not outside either, as she rushed toward the shattered wall-to-wall window and looked down.

—Whir!—

The vibrating sound made her turn her gaze upward, where she saw a gondola suspended along the side of the building, moving toward the rooftop.

"ROOAAARRRR!"

---

A few moments earlier:

"That's our way out of here," Nach said, looking at the gondola suspended two floors below where the undead girls had been knocked down, falling all the way from the 28th floor to the ground.

"Right. There are some repairs going on at the windows on the upper floors," Tominaga said, confirming that the gondola was indeed set up at the rooftop.

With their numbers, it would take at least two trips for everyone to safely reach the rooftop, which was why they needed to act quickly before Saki came for them.

"Cut the curtains, Saeko. Then tie them, Yui, for a makeshift rope."

"Leave it to us, Nach-sensei," Saeko said as she drew the wakizashi sheathed behind her waist and sliced through the curtains.

"Anything as long as it gets us out of here," Yui added as she tied the strips Saeko handed her.

While Saeko and Yui worked on the rope, Nach dragged the heavy bed and moved it toward Miku, adding it to the barricade along with the sofa to hold back the undead horde for a while longer.

Once the makeshift rope was finished—long enough to reach the gondola—Nach climbed down first while everyone held the other end.

Reaching the gondola was the easy part. Getting to the rooftop before Saki arrived was a gamble.

The first ride included Saeko, the young woman with a baby, the two sisters, the grade schooler, and Nach as the operator.

It took at least five minutes to reach the rooftop, where, just as Saki had said, there was a helicopter—one used to transport multiple patients in emergencies to hospitals.

Luckily, Saki hadn't posted any undead on the rooftop, and the helicopter key was still inside when Nach checked.

It was another convenient plot, but Nach wasn't about to complain.

"Stay inside here until I get back," Nach said to everyone—especially Saeko—warning her not to fight alone if the undead suddenly arrived.

"You'd better hurry, Nach-sensei," Saeko said with her usual gentle smile, reassuring him that she could protect everyone.

Nach returned to retrieve the rest of the group, lowering the gondola back to the 28th floor.

Once everyone else was aboard, Miku let go of the barricade and rushed toward Nach, leaping into his arms as he caught her in a bridal carry.

"Let's get out of here," Nach said as he activated the controls—but as they passed the 40th floor;

—BAMMM!—

The crashing sound from below could only mean one thing.

Saki had arrived.

They looked down and saw her glaring up at them in rage.

---

"ROOAAARRRR!"

Even with her overwhelming strength, Saki couldn't reach the gondola by jumping from the 28th floor, nor could she climb through the glass windows—at least, that was what Nach assumed when she disappeared from sight.

"Can you fly a helicopter, Nach-sensei?" Tominaga asked, making Nach assume neither he nor Hogosha could.

"Can you, Nach?" Yui asked anxiously, worried despite being only minutes away from the rooftop.

"I learned how during a part-time job," Nach said—not entirely lying, as it was part of his survival training.

Their only concern was whether the gondola would reach the rooftop before Saki—and on that bet, they won.

As they arrived, they saw Saeko cutting down the last of the dozen undead that had broken through the door.

"Wait, where are you going?!" Nach shouted as Tominaga and Hogosha ran to hold the door shut against the incoming horde.

"Get everyone out of here, Nach-sensei! Don't worry about us!" Tominaga said, with Hogosha backing him up.

"It's our responsibility to protect the young ones!"

Realizing they were sacrificing themselves filled Nach with guilt, but he wouldn't insult their resolve.

"Hurry inside!" he said, ushering Yui, Miku, and Saeko aboard.

The helicopter was large enough to carry all of them—five adults and five children. And just as it lifted off—BAMM!

Saki burst onto the rooftop, kicking the door hard enough to nearly knock Tominaga and Hogosha over the edge.

The instant Nach locked eyes with her, he executed a sideslip maneuver—sending the helicopter diving away from the building.

"GYAHHH!" the girls screamed in panic.

The maneuver caused Saki to miss her jump at the helicopter, though she landed perfectly on the rooftop's edge.

"ROOAAARRRR!"

Another roar echoed as everyone watched in horror while she grabbed Tominaga and Hogosha and hurled them off the rooftop.

"No…"

"That bitch!" Miku cursed as Yui cried.

"Where are we going now, Nach-sensei?"

Looking at Saeko beside him, Nach answered quietly:

"We're going to make this situation even more complicated than it already is."
