Chapter 57 - Act.7 - Part 8

The frequent appearance of unusual, strong, and more dangerous undead—the undead retaining their lingering affection and lust, their overpowered strength, their ability to control a horde, the threat of possible undying headless undead, and the mystery of why only female undead seemed to have these quirks—Nach decided to put all of those concerns in the back of his mind so he could focus on finding a less dangerous way to rescue Miku.

After their encounter with the erotic undead office lady—or at least, Nach assumed she once was—their group managed to reach the broadcasting van and drive away, heading toward Miku's location.

They avoided the traffic-congested main road and took a detour along multiple streets. Still, even though they had closed the distance—just a few dozen meters away, right in front of the Fujimi Academy bus and the sports car where Miku was trapped—reaching her by driving the van was impossible, with abandoned cars blocking the path ahead. Moving on foot was equally implausible, with all the undead swarming the main road.

"I don't think there's anyone else left inside the bus," Yui said, noticing the bloody handprints on the bus windows.

"But Nach-sensei was right. There's someone trapped inside the red car," Saeko said, looking through the binoculars and noticing a silhouette through the slightly tinted window.

Obviously, risking Saeko's life—one of the female leads in Highschool of the Dead—just to save Miku, who was among the antagonists, wasn't even up for debate. However, Nach wasn't the type to discriminate against a female character based on her role.

Maybe not all female characters, Nach thought.

Setting aside his random thoughts, Nach stepped out of the van and addressed Saeko and Yui.

"Both of you just wait here," Nach said, intending to rescue Miku on his own.

"If I don't make it back, you can drive the van, right, Yui?"

"You already said you wouldn't let me go. So keep your word, Nach."

Yui stepped out of the van, making it clear she would follow Nach, joining Saeko, who had already done the same before Nach could refuse her help.

"We could use the van horn to attract the undead, like you did at the school and Ibaraki-san at the bridge," Saeko said, voicing a plan that Nach had already considered, though he wasn't completely sure, since they would lose their ride.

Not that they had much choice.

"Find a place to hide while I set up the van," Nach instructed.

Following his orders, Saeko and Yui entered a nearby store—a cat café, or rather, an undead cat café.

While Saeko quickly eliminated the few undead inside, Nach quietly set up the van to avoid attracting attention from the main road.

He placed a brick he picked up from the side of the street on the accelerator and stuck a branch in the wheel to keep the horn pressed before running to hide with Saeko and Yui.

—BEEPPP!—

The van's loud horn attracted the attention of undead not only from the main road but from every place the sound could be heard. With the van slowly moving in reverse, despite a few undead blocking its path, the horde was gradually drawn away from the main road.

"Ekk—!"

A scared shriek came from Yui as she watched the flood of undead outside the store, feeling the ground tremble beneath their march.

Nach quickly covered her mouth with his right hand and wrapped his other arm around her waist to hold her from behind. In that instant, Yui's thoughts shifted from fear of the undead to the thrill of feeling Nach's massive, hard erection pressing against her soft rear.

The van didn't manage to lead the horde very far before it stopped moving due to being crowded and the horn ceased when the branch slipped. Still, it had put enough distance between the horde and Nach, Saeko, and Yui for them to move behind the undead unnoticed.

"Stay close and keep a sharp eye, Yui," Nach said, addressing only Yui, as a glance between him and Saeko was enough for them to understand each other instinctively.

Nach led the way, with Yui in the middle and Saeko behind. A few undead remained in the street, trapped between the cars or beneath them, but they posed no threat.

The few minutes of walking felt like hours, given how tense they were and how slowly they moved to avoid making noise and attracting the horde, until they finally reached the red sports car safely.

Nach opened the door—which wasn't even locked—and saw Miku just as he had observed her through the Reader's Viewpoint: a complete mess, slumped in the passenger seat.

Her sailor uniform was stained with dirt from crawling on the ground with a sprained right ankle. Her face was streaked with tears from constant crying, though it didn't wash away the blood and dirt left from Tsunoda's kick, and worst of all, she had even wet herself, overwhelmed by hopelessness and fear.

"EKK—!"

Miku was about to scream when she lifted her face and realized the door had been opened, mistaking Nach for an undead. But Nach quickly covered her lips and looked her in the eye as he spoke.

"You're safe now, Miku."

Despite not fully comprehending the situation, Miku began crying again in relief after hearing that she was safe—recognizing Nach as the teacher with a rough, handsome appearance, a large muscular frame, and the massive erection she hadn't seen because Nach had refused to take off his white trunks during Shido's forced inspection.

"We have to go, Nach," Yui warned, tapping him on the back to draw his attention to the horde of undead beginning to move back toward the main road.

"We're getting surrounded, Nach-sensei," Saeko added, shifting Nach's attention to the undead approaching from both sides of the road.

"You can cry, but you need to hold back your moans," Nach said as he lifted Miku, who had buried her face in his left shoulder. He carried her in one arm, his left hand supporting her under the thighs, and then closed the door of the sports car—which he instantly regretted.

—BEEPPP!—

The car alarm blared, attracting the attention of every undead nearby.

—BEEPPP!!!—

Worse, the sports car's alarm triggered the sensors of other vehicles around, causing a chain reaction.

Most of the abandoned cars on the main road went off at once, producing a deafening noise that seemed to call every undead in the area, pointing them straight to the only group left alive on the road.
