Ye Lingling looked at her friend and spoke softly. She suggested that they could check the people in the group chat one by one to find out who was who. Besides the person called Orphan, there was also Number Thirteen. However, she pointed out that Number Thirteen had just joined the group recently. Since her identity was still a complete mystery, it was very unlikely that Su Yan was looking for her specifically.
Dugu Yan leaned back and thought about this for a moment. She mused that if the woman named Orphan was currently in Heaven Dou City, she must be someone quite influential. It was impressive that she could even compete with someone as powerful as Bibi Dong to win over Su Yan. Dugu Yan found the whole thing very strange. She wondered aloud if there really was a woman in Heaven Dou City who possessed that kind of power and status.
Ye Lingling shook her head slowly. She explained that only the members of the Upper Three Sects or the two great imperial families, Heaven Dou and Star Luo, would have enough power to challenge Bibi Dong for someone like Su Yan. She admitted that she couldn't think of any specific woman in the city who fit that description.
Dugu Yan felt a bit suspicious and asked if it was possible the woman was just bluffing about her importance. Ye Lingling considered the idea but eventually shook her head again. She noted that Su Yan seemed to know a great deal about the affairs of the world, so the person he was looking for must truly have influence.
If she didn't, she wouldn't have been able to deceive him so easily. Still, Ye Lingling told her friend that they didn't need to worry about it too much. They weren't Bibi Dong, so thinking about these complicated things was probably useless for them.
Dugu Yan agreed that her friend made a good point. She decided to stop worrying and lay down to get some sleep. She reached out and hugged Ye Lingling's delicate body tightly. Ye Lingling felt incredibly shy and struggled to turn her back to her friend, but this only allowed Dugu Yan to get a better grip on her.
Far away in the Pope's Bedchamber within Spirit Hall, Bibi Dong was also having a hard time. She wore a thin nightgown and was tossing and turning in her bed, unable to find any sleep. Her disciple, Hu Liena, was lying right beside her. Under the soft glow of the moonlight, Hu Liena looked at the beautiful figure of her teacher. She couldn't help but reach out her hand toward her.
Bibi Dong heard the movement and asked what Nana was doing. Hu Liena quickly pulled her hand back, feeling very surprised and a bit embarrassed. She thought to herself that her teacher was truly amazing and felt so soft and comfortable to be near.
Bibi Dong asked if the people in the group chat were still talking. Hu Liena snuggled a bit closer and told her that it seemed everyone had gone to bed early today. She guessed that maybe they had stayed up too late chatting the night before.
This news made Bibi Dong quite upset. She felt frustrated that Su Yan, that little scoundrel, had locked her in the chat's small dark room for an entire day. She wasn't used to being treated that way and told herself that sooner or later, she would make him pay for it.
Bibi Dong decided to share something personal with her disciple. She whispered that she actually felt completely clear-headed now, comparing her current state to that of Liu Erlong. Hu Liena was so shocked by this that she suddenly sat up in bed. She felt at a loss and asked why her teacher was telling her something so strange in the middle of the night. She even wondered if the room was haunted or if something was wrong.
Bibi Dong turned over to lie on her side so she could look at Hu Liena directly. She explained that if she didn't make things clear, Hu Liena would continue to think she was going crazy. She told her disciple that she no longer had any dark obsessions and hoped that Hu Liena wouldn't feel the need to guard against her anymore. She wanted them to focus all their energy on dealing with Tang San and Tang Hao.
Hu Liena looked at her teacher. In her thin nightgown, Bibi Dong looked very charming, and her eyes were full of a gentle, maternal love. She didn't look like a madwoman at all; instead, she looked like a beautiful and calm woman. However, Hu Liena couldn't help but think that a person who was mentally ill might say the exact same thing.
Bibi Dong saw the doubt on her face and asked if she didn't believe her. Hu Liena had a very conflicted expression. She didn't know how to answer because she felt that if she said she believed it, even Bibi Dong might not think she was being honest. Bibi Dong felt exasperated and asked if she believed that Liu Erlong was sane. Hu Liena thought about it and admitted that she thought Liu Erlong was probably fine.
This made Bibi Dong laugh with a bit of anger. She asked why Liu Erlong could be fine while her own teacher could not. Hu Liena hesitated and mentioned that she thought her teacher was still being affected by the evil thoughts of the Rakshasa God. This made Bibi Dong very angry. She sat up quickly, pulled Hu Liena into a firm embrace, and gave her a sharp slap on her bottom. She asked again, more firmly this time, if Hu Liena believed her or not.
Meanwhile, at Shrek Academy, Zhu Zhuqing opened her eyes feeling a bit groggy. She saw her roommate Ning Rongrong sitting up on the bed, staring blankly at a jade mirror. Ning Rongrong's eyes were full of confusion. Zhu Zhuqing asked why she wasn't resting yet. Ning Rongrong looked at her with a complicated expression and said she wanted to keep an eye on the group chat for a little while longer.
Zhu Zhuqing was confused because it seemed like everyone had already gone to sleep. She asked what exactly Ning Rongrong was looking for. Ning Rongrong sighed softly and admitted she wanted to see if Dugu Yan or the girl known as Number Nine would try to make a move on Su Yan during the night. Zhu Zhuqing felt a bit helpless and told her friend to just go to sleep. She promised her that those two wouldn't have any chance to do anything to Su Yan that night.
The next morning, the sun rose and sent fine threads of light through the curtains. It woke the world and started a beautiful new day. Qian Renxue slowly opened her eyes. She had slept very peacefully because she knew someone was guarding her. As soon as she woke up, she saw him. Su Yan was sitting by the window, still resting with his eyes closed.
Last night, Qian Renxue had shared many things that were hidden deep in her heart. She had opened up in a way she never had before, and it made her feel a wonderful sense of ease. She got out of bed and tiptoed toward Su Yan while still wearing her nightgown. She looked at his handsome face in the morning light and felt a new, beautiful emotion stirring inside her. She realized she was acting like someone who had fallen deeply in love.
To be honest, Qian Renxue was willing to admit she was being a bit of a fool for love. But she also felt it wasn't entirely her fault. Su Yan was handsome, very powerful, and had a personality that was hard for any woman to ignore. It felt almost impossible to resist him. Since she had been isolated for so many years and Su Yan was the only one who knew her true self, she felt incredibly relaxed and safe with him.
The young woman couldn't help but reach out her hand to gently touch Su Yan's face. She quickly pulled it back, feeling very nervous and shy. She saw that he didn't seem to be waking up yet. A bold thought entered her mind, and she wondered if she should try to kiss him while he was asleep. She was startled by the idea but then told herself that since he was asleep and no one else was there, it might be okay.
She hesitated for a moment but couldn't resist the feeling. She lightly touched his forehead and then rested her head against his chest. She felt a deep sense of warmth and happiness and wished that time would just stop right there. While she was lost in her feelings, she suddenly felt a pair of large hands resting on her head and her back.
She realized with a shock that Su Yan had woken up. She was completely stunned and didn't dare to move a muscle. After a long time had passed, she finally spoke up. She asked him if he was supposed to leave early that day and why he hadn't left yet. Su Yan reached out and gently stroked her soft golden hair. He told her that even though he had to go, he found that he really didn't want to leave her side.
Qian Renxue felt very happy to hear those words, but she didn't want to show it too much. She replied in a bit of an arrogant tone, asking if he also felt that way about parting with Zhu Zhuqing, Ning Rongrong, Xiao Wu, and the others. Su Yan didn't know how to respond to that.
