Arabella stared into her glass.
It was clean and shining, filled with a red wine she would rarely find in the city. As she tilted it slightly, no traces clung to the sides. The liquid was dense and smooth. The falling rings of the chandelier hanging at the center of the hotel reflected clearly on its surface—along with a face.
Arabella lifted her gaze, her eyes settling on the woman across from her.
Her clothes were very eye-catching and tightly wrapped around her body, and despite her old age, she had adorned herself with makeup. Arabella doubted discretion was in her mind when she came to this meeting. But—
"Of all the places, you chose this."
She turned her head toward the open space beyond the railing, where the hotel's main entrance lay far below, then looked back again.
"It seems that you trust your family too much, Mrs. Ravenna."
It hadn't even been a full day since Arabella contacted the president of F&K.
