Something had changed.
Angelica tried to adjust her position in the driver's seat, but her hands were swallowed by the oversized sleeves of her sister's hoodie. She glared at the excess fabric.
"How did she get so big?" she muttered, folding the sleeves back with jerky, impatient movements.
Her body was beginning to go numb from sitting in the cramped space for so long, but the wait was finally over.
The heavy front doors of the mansion opened, and a group of people spilled out. Angelica straightened, her eyes narrowing.
Her parents were laughing brightly, effortlessly drifting across the lawn. She watched them with a dark, twisted smirk.
'Enjoy it while you can,' she thought.
After a lengthy conversation, they dispersed. Flinn got into his car; his parents got into another. Once the guests had cleared the gates, Angelica saw her own parents head back inside. Only then did she press her ignition.
