The room was quiet and dark, with the only light being a soft, decorative lamp that was following a pattern as it was moving like a nebula over the ceiling.
It was also cold inside, such that the bed had a cocoon of sheets placed, wrapping a figure completely.
But just then, the silence was broken by a loud noise from the ringtone placed on the bedside table.
The figure beneath the covers stirred immediately, and a hand slipped out first.
But then the blanket shifted as the person suddenly pushed herself upright.
Holding a ringing phone in her hand, her brows were knitted in a deep frown. Though her posture straightened out of habit, her face was still twisted with irritation.
It was past midnight, and she was already in a deep sleep, so of course the interruption was infuriating, but that didn't bring her to cancel the call or even just wait, as she quickly picked it up after clearing her throat.
