Chapter 40 - "The Six-Winged Seal"

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Even though all three Command Seals had been used and were now faint and dull, he was still Saber's Master.

As the seals were drawn out, Kiritsugu Emiya let out a scream of agony.

Once Hestia had completely extracted his Command Seals, they merged into Alex's hand.

In that instant, the marks on Alex's hand began to shift and transform.

The two sets of seals fused into one—a brand-new Command Seal, radiant and divine, shaped like a four-winged angel.

At that moment, Roxy stepped forward."Alex, take mine too!"

There were only two days left until the Holy Grail War ended. Once the mission was over, she'd return to her own world. There was no point taking Morgan with her.

Alex wasn't strong enough yet, and the world of the Moonlit Realm was far too dangerous. Leaving Morgan behind to protect him would be the best choice.

"Alright," Alex nodded.Even if Roxy hadn't said it, he'd been planning to ask for Morgan after the war anyway.

Hestia once again performed the ritual, this time transferring Roxy's Command Seal into Alex's hand. The process was gentler—Roxy didn't feel any pain at all.

Now, with three Seals merged, the pattern on Alex's hand had transformed again—this time into a six-winged angel.

Kiritsugu, stripped of his seals, slumped into despair.

His dream of saving all humanity—shattered.

Worse yet, he had personally brought death upon Maiya Hisau.

Irisviel sobbed quietly beside him, while Artoria stood frozen, at a loss for words.

In just an instant, her Master had changed.Who was she supposed to obey now?

Her mind went blank.

Meanwhile, Roxy knelt beside Maiya's body—and noticed something. There was still a faint breath, a weak heartbeat.Without hesitation, she cast a healing spell.

But her healing magic was only mid-tier; its effects were limited. In her world, most high-level magic—including advanced healing and purification—was monopolized by the Holy Kingdom of Millis. She'd never had a chance to learn it.

Seeing Roxy's efforts, Irisviel quickly wiped her tears and joined in, using the healing magecraft of the Moonlit World.

The combined healing finally started to work—but the wound in Maiya's chest was too severe. Her organs and intestines were exposed, and her life was slipping away faster than they could restore it.

With that much blood loss, a normal person would've died long ago.

Frowning in thought, Irisviel suddenly realized something. She pressed her hands to her chest—and drew out a sheath from within her own body.

The moment Artoria saw it, her eyes went wide."That's... that's the scabbard I lost long ago!"

Pulling it out had drained the last of Irisviel's color.Biting her lip, she forced herself to push the sheath into Maiya's body.

Alex turned to Artoria."Saber, stand beside her."

Artoria nodded. She knew the scabbard's power—it could heal any wound. The closer she was, the stronger its effect.

Sure enough, as soon as she stood near Maiya, the wounds began closing before their eyes.Within seconds, the injury had completely vanished.Maiya was still unconscious—but alive.

Far away, still bound by Luo Hao's golden hand, Kiritsugu exhaled in relief. The dullness in his eyes faded, replaced by a flicker of life.

"What should we do with him?"Esdeath's eyes sparkled with excitement, already imagining countless methods of punishment.

Alex looked at Irisviel, her tear-streaked, beautiful face trembling with grief. He sighed. "Let him go."

In the end, even heroes can't resist a beautiful face.

He liked Irisviel—wanted to win her over.Killing Kiritsugu in front of her would've ruined any chance of that.

Luo Hao shook her head slightly, disappointed.Hestia just smiled."Since ancient times, heroes and tyrants alike have fallen for beauty. Ah Che's just a teenage boy—liking a pretty girl is perfectly normal. And that homunculus really is quite the beauty."

Luo Hao gave her a glance but said nothing. With a casual wave of her hand, the golden construct vanished, releasing Kiritsugu.

He cast Alex a long, complicated look—then turned and walked away without a word.

Irisviel immediately summoned her artificial maids to clean up the battlefield, while Alex and the others returned to the castle hall.

Alex looked down at the six-winged Command Seal on his hand.He could feel his mana draining rapidly.

Feeding three Servants at once was no small task.

Hestia noticed his strain and smiled."Ah Che, after a battle like that, your stats must've gone up quite a bit. Want me to update your blessing?"

Alex's eyes lit up instantly."Yes, please—do it right now!"If his magic stat increased, maybe he could finally support all three Servants properly.

Everyone else perked up too, curious to see how much stronger he'd become.Only the newly joined Artoria looked confused.Update his blessing? What does that mean?

But the next scene left her completely stunned.

Alex pulled off his shirt, revealing a lean, muscular torso, and sat down on a stool with his back to Hestia.

Hestia drew a line across her fingertip with another, letting a drop of divine blood fall onto his back.

Since her divine power was unsealed, the blood glowed gold, radiating pure divinity and overwhelming presence.

Artoria's eyes widened in shock. The girl before her—she wasn't a summoned divine spirit. She was the real thing.A true goddess in the flesh.

But… how?Wasn't the Age of Gods long over? How could a deity still exist in this era?

As the divine blood sank into Alex's skin, Hestia's hands shone with light. She began inscribing new parameters.

Name: Alex

Level: LV1

Stats:

Strength: C606 → S999

Endurance: C600 → S999

Dexterity: C601 → S999

Agility: C612 → S999

Mana: SSS1479 → SSS9999

Development Abilities:

Magic: "", "", ""Skills: —

"This… this is insane!" Hestia gasped.

Alex took the copied parchment and blinked in disbelief.Every core stat maxed out at S rank—and his mana had skyrocketed to a ridiculous 9999.

Then it hit him: during the battle, he'd absorbed massive amounts of mana using the Northern Sea Divine Art. That must've boosted his values to this absurd level.

As for the rest of his stats reaching S rank—that was probably thanks to the countless heroic spirits he'd fought. After all, those summoned under Iskandar's command were legendary heroes in their own right.

To battle so many heroes—and slay them—was an achievement worthy of legend.
