What pulled Evelyn out of her thoughts was the young man whose hair she was stroking murmuring in a whisper.
The softness of the hair beneath her hand was unbearable; as if she didn't want to pull her hand away, she let her fingers wander through that pink hair a little longer, then smiled.
"You're like a puppy."
Angelo squirmed where he stood when he heard that. It was obvious he didn't like hearing it, yet he also didn't want Evelyn to pull her hand away from his hair.
"Don't say things like that to me…"
As Evelyn kept stroking his hair, the tips of her fingers brushed the edge of his ear as well.
Angelo made it clear how much those touches were affecting him, sometimes closing one eye, sometimes leaning into her hand.
"You don't like dogs? Then should I say you're like a cat instead?"
Angelo closed his other eye as well and frowned. Seeing his expression, Evelyn laughed and made a move to pull her hand away.
