Evelyn had already started wishing she hadn't come here at all, and that this party would end as soon as possible.
Being blatantly harassed by a man she didn't even recognize, while the people around acted as if it were some kind of entertainment show, was dizzying.
Part of her also thought that something like this was too absurd to ever happen in reality, reminding her that this world was a game world.
Still, what she was experiencing was real. And that was exactly why it affected her even more.
After Xander's words, Evelyn's gaze drifted back to the people around them. The flashes from the phones in their hands, the mocking expressions on their faces, made her head spin.
"What recording are you talking about?" Julian asked, taking a step toward him. Xander tried not to show it, but when Julian moved closer, he panicked and took two steps back.
"God, Julian, why are you being so protective?" he said. "This really isn't like you at all."
