The boss found it reasonable and waved his hand:
"Get rid of the old monk, I have official approval, demolish it for me!"
A few workers grabbed the old abbot and took him aside.
The old abbot couldn't resist the shoving of several strong men, so he had to stand aside, watching the bulldozers and excavators break down the temple gates.
As the dust flew up, the old abbot sighed and said to the workers beside him:
"Destroying temples and breaking monasteries is a huge taboo that harms one's fortune, you should leave quickly."
The worker lowered his brow:
"It's almost New Year, our wives and children are waiting for us to bring money back.
If we don't do this work, the boss won't pay us.
If life wasn't so hard, who would want to do such heartless work?"
The old abbot closed his eyes helplessly, as if unwilling to see the tragic situation that would unfold next, and recited a Buddhist blessing:
"I hope the gods have a benevolent heart!"
