Zheng Geng found this matter increasingly suspicious:
"Who is it that has me by the throat? Wang Xinfa, or... the Chief Member? But if it's the Chief Member, why won't he let me continue speaking?
Isn't the Chief Member stepping down soon, hasn't he been increasingly disengaged these past two years?
Why would... was the Chief just helping Mr. Wang? But everyone in the Executive Government knows the Chief doesn't really like Mr. Wang?"
Zheng Geng swallowed, his throat feeling increasingly dry and tight.
He once again looked at the heavy wooden door in front of him, carved with intricate patterns, and felt a chilling sensation.
The "scenery" behind this door is likely more dangerous, more unpredictable, by hundreds of times than he previously imagined.
He just... wanted to go in and see it clearly.
The meeting didn't last long; it ended quickly.
