The air on the other side was immediately suffocating. It smelled intensely of ancient rot, raw sulphur, and dried, metallic blood.
Gorn took a step forward, his heavy iron boots sticking slightly to the ground. The cavern was massive. The high, jagged ceiling and the wide stone walls were completely covered in thick, glistening grey webs. The strands were as thick as a man's arm, woven into a dense, horrifying labyrinth.
"Stay close," Gorn ordered roughly, gripping the hilt of his greatsword. "Mini-boss rooms don't have standard traps. The boss is the trap. Keep your eyes open."
Rurik swallowed hard, clutching his twin hand axes. The mercenary was sweating profusely. "Boss, this feels wrong. Look at the size of these webs. Whatever spun these is huge."
