Seraphine's eyes fluttered open, but she immediately squeezed them shut with a wince.
"Uhmmm!" Burning pain flared behind her eyelids.
And not just that, as she tried to move, her entire body ached with a dull, heavy throb.
Her muscles felt stiff, protesting against her wishes.
And when she tried to speak, her throat felt dry.
"Two days," Suddenly a voice took her by surprise.
"Hmmm!" Seraphine tried to force her eyes open again, blinking against the light that felt very painful as she turned her head slowly.
It took effort just to move her neck.
And in front of her sat Leo right up to the edge of the mattress.
He was leaning forward with his elbows on his knees, his eyes locked onto her face. He looked exhausted, but the moment she looked at him, a genuine grin broke across his face.
"My darling! You have been out cold for two whole days," Leo said. He reached over and bent down to lean over her, "You had me worried."
