"Naruto: Ice God"Chapter 152: Battle Again, Hiruzen Sarutobi
"The effect is quite good."
Feng Bai watched with satisfaction as Pakura forcibly shattered the ice mirrors and broke free from the genjutsu. In actual combat, the opening created by this new jutsu would have been sufficient for him to kill Pakura several times over.
The positioning could still be refined further.
Speaking of which, he needed to give this technique a name.
Well, might as well continue borrowing from others.
No one could blame Feng Bai for constantly copying from others—if he had to come up with names himself, his skills might be even worse than Minato's.
"Decided! I'll call it Mirror Flower, Water Moon!"
Feng Bai slapped his forehead, settling on the new jutsu's name, while calling out to Pakura nearby: "Alright, stop wallowing. I promise you—when the opportunity arises, I'll personally take you to deal with Rasa, Chiyo, and Ebizō!"
Hearing Feng Bai's promise, Pakura suddenly raised her head, fixing her amber eyes intently on him: "Really?"
"Of course it's true. I've been annoyed with that 'Mister Mysterious Value' for quite some time myself."
Feng Bai nodded. That Rasa fellow, constantly measuring others by their worth—it was time someone measured him for a change.
"'Mister Mysterious Value,' huh? Pfft..."
Hearing this nickname for Rasa, Pakura, who had been in low spirits, couldn't help but burst into laughter, then quickly composed herself, avoiding Feng Bai's inquisitive gaze.
Being rescued didn't seem so unbearable after all.
Right—she couldn't continue wallowing in despair.
Pakura knew Rasa was strong. With his Magnet Release, he could freely manipulate gold dust to attack enemies. She alone was indeed no match for him.
She had to become stronger!
Strong enough that even Rasa couldn't defeat her—strong enough to make him kneel and beg for her forgiveness, repenting for his blind foolishness!
...
Kikyo Mountain battlefield.
Seven days had passed since the war erupted.
During these seven days, Rasa—who had been bestowed with quite the nickname by Pakura—now stood atop gold dust, floating in midair.
Below, Hiruzen Sarutobi had summoned Enma and transformed him into the Adamantine Staff.
Seeing Hiruzen Sarutobi in this state for the first time, Rasa was extremely cautious, forcing himself to ignore the distant screams of his own wounded shinobi.
This was absolutely terrible—Orochimaru had also arrived at the Kikyo Mountain battlefield.
With Chiyo tied up by Orochimaru and unable to provide support, Rasa was left to face this legendary Professor of Ninjutsu alone.
"Take this!"
Just as Rasa was contemplating his next move, Hiruzen Sarutobi's battle cry prompted him to immediately deploy his gold dust defenses.
The Adamantine Staff, originally only slightly taller than Hiruzen, suddenly extended upward from the ground, piercing straight through Rasa's gold dust barrier.
Tilting his head to dodge the Adamantine Staff's attack and feeling the fierce wind pressure, Rasa felt a chill of fear.
If he hadn't dodged, he would have been killed instantly.
But it wasn't over yet.
A furry giant hand suddenly emerged from the staff, seizing Rasa by the throat.
With a violent squeeze, Rasa's neck snapped on the spot, his limp corpse dissolving into gold dust and flowing down from the sky.
"Gold Dust Clone—then the real body should be here!"
Retracting the Adamantine Staff to its original size, Hiruzen Sarutobi planted it in the ground and executed a pole vault, dodging the gold dust surging up from below.
"Magnet Release: Gold Dust Imperial Funeral!"
Missing his target, Rasa emerged from the gold dust, waving both hands to condense the material into sharp spikes resembling bamboo shoots.
Amid a series of metallic clashes, the sharp spikes were shattered by the Adamantine Staff. Hiruzen seized the moment to extend the staff once more.
Having learned from his previous mistake, Rasa twisted away while manipulating gold dust to protect himself, preventing Enma's giant hand from easily reaching him.
"Truly troublesome."
Seeing that his opponent possessed both aerial capabilities and formidable close-combat skills, with terrifyingly powerful ninjutsu to boot, Rasa momentarily had no idea how to handle this former Hokage.
He had no choice but to stake everything on one decisive move.
A flash of determination crossed his eyes as Rasa frantically mobilized all the nearby gold dust.
He was betting everything on this single strike.
Watching the erupting tidal wave of gold dust, Hiruzen Sarutobi caught a whiff of danger.
"Earth Release: Earth-Style Wall!"
Spitting out what looked like old phlegm, a wall over ten meters high formed instantly. Holding his staff in one hand and climbing with the other, Hiruzen nimbly reached the wall's summit.
But facing Rasa's gold dust tsunami, the wall's foundation was quickly undermined, and the entire structure began to teeter precariously.
"This is bad."
Knowing that falling into the gold dust would mean certain annihilation, Hiruzen Sarutobi made a hasty decision.
"Magnet Release: Gold Dust Great Burial!"
The dense, heavy gold dust demolished the wall and instantly engulfed Hiruzen Sarutobi.
Clenching his right fist, the gold dust compressed rapidly before exploding.
"That should have done it."
Rasa believed he hadn't given Hiruzen Sarutobi time to execute a Body Replacement or Clone Technique.
Hiruzen Sarutobi thought the same.
As the gold dust dispersed, a cage composed of dozens of Adamantine Staffs appeared before Rasa's eyes.
"Not good!"
Cursing inwardly, Rasa was about to retreat when Hiruzen Sarutobi, seizing the perfect moment, struck his shoulder with an extended staff.
Amid the sound of shattering bones, the Fourth Kazekage was sent flying—a scene that Chiyo, still engaged with Orochimaru, happened to witness.
"That damned old bastard!"
Seeing her Kazekage defeated by Hiruzen Sarutobi, Chiyo accelerated her assault, preparing to finish off Orochimaru then and there.
At this point, Orochimaru had yet to produce any noteworthy scientific achievements. His overall strength had only improved moderately since the Second Great Ninja War, and he had no effective strategy against Chiyo wielding the Chikamatsu Collection of Seven Puppets.
However, what he lacked, Manda possessed.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
Sensing Chiyo's intent, Orochimaru gave her no opportunity to act, decisively summoning Manda.
The massive Manda appeared on the battlefield, instantly crushing Chiyo's plans and forcing her to abandon any thoughts of continuing the fight.
"Retreat!"
Without hesitation, she made the decision for Rasa. The Sunagakure army, carrying the wounded Rasa, hastily fled back to their positions.
"Hiruzen-sensei."
Watching his teacher's distant figure, Orochimaru knew that to end this war swiftly, Hiruzen had to seize this rare opportunity.
"I understand."
Grasping Orochimaru's implication, Hiruzen Sarutobi summoned four shadow clones and, relying on his agile speed, pursued the retreating Sunagakure forces.
"Five Release: Great Continuous Bullet Technique!"
Violent explosions swept through the Sunagakure main force. Even though Chiyo had anticipated his move, she couldn't prevent his actions.
Only Rasa, enduring his pain, managed to gather gold dust once more, barely constructing a reasonably secure defensive line for his troops.
