"Naruto: Ice God"Chapter 121: The Three-Tails (Part Three)
Feng Bai appeared at the location where his shadow clone had previously battled Uchiha Setsuna.
The first thing he did upon landing was to pull out the ninja blade embedded in his body.
Throwing the blade aside in vindictive frustration, Feng Bai felt immensely grateful that he had studied medical ninjutsu—otherwise, he might have ended up celebrating New Year's in the Pure Land together with the Three-Tails.
Oh right, Tailed Beasts could be revived.
If he wanted to come back to life, it would depend on whether some kind soul would use Impure World Reincarnation to summon him in the future.
Gasping for breath, Feng Bai applied medical ninjutsu to stop his bleeding. Fortunately, Setsuna hadn't coated the blade with poison, allowing Feng Bai's condition to gradually stabilize.
"Damn it, I'm almost out of chakra."
Seeing the wound finally cease bleeding, Feng Bai stopped his treatment and used his remaining energy to assess how much chakra remained in his body.
"I can barely manage one more Flying Thunder God. As long as I get back to Kakashi and the others, I'll truly be safe..."
Struggling to his feet, Feng Bai didn't dare rest for long. Glancing at the corpses of Yamanaka Zen and Shimura Ikku on the ground, he said helplessly, "Sorry, I can't give you proper burials right now."
Just as he was about to concentrate and sense the location of Kakashi's Flying Thunder God kunai, a male voice interrupted him.
"No worries. I can handle everyone's burial for you."
The voice made Feng Bai force a bitter smile as he turned toward the newcomer.
From the shadows emerged a Mist ninja with long green hair, thick eyebrows, and full lips, wearing an ambiguous smile and wielding two bizarre long blades.
Good news—the newcomer wasn't the masked man from before.
Bad news—this opponent posed an even greater threat than the masked man.
"Well, well, if it isn't one of the 'Lucky Trio'—Kurosuki Raiga."
Recognizing the weapons, Feng Bai identified the Mist ninja before him.
"Lucky Trio?"
Raiga looked puzzled, hearing this nickname for the first time, but judging by Feng Bai's expression and tone, he could sense the mockery it contained.
"Sharp-tongued brat, still acting tough when death's at your door. Looking at these bodies, you're a Konoha ninja, right?"
Irritated yet amused by Feng Bai's attitude, Raiga raised his Thunder Blades, electricity crackling around them, preparing to let Feng Bai experience some 'electric therapy.' But first, he offered Feng Bai a choice:
"Did you have anything to do with that distant explosion? What do these corpses represent? Kid, if your answer satisfies me, I might give you a quick death."
"Raiga-sama, this brat appears to be Konoha's White Reaper."
Just as Feng Bai was mustering his final reserves for one last fight, several Mist ninja appeared behind Raiga. One immediately recognized Feng Bai's identity.
"Hmm?"
Hearing his subordinate, Raiga withdrew his chakra and examined Feng Bai carefully under the moonlight.
"I see. That face... you really are the White Reaper."
Though Feng Bai looked considerably worse for wear, with dried blood covering his body and face, his handsome features couldn't be completely concealed. Kurosuki Raiga quickly confirmed his identity.
"Capture him alive!"
Once he knew Feng Bai's identity, Raiga immediately changed his objective.
Kirigakure's leadership had long issued orders to capture Feng Bai alive, aiming to discover why a Kekkei Genkai unique to their village had appeared in Konoha.
Two smoke bombs remaining...
Seeing the Mist ninja charging toward him, Feng Bai had no intention of engaging in combat. He reached for his ninja pouch, pulled out his last two smoke bombs, and hurled them.
Thick black smoke obscured the Mist ninja's vision. Raiga frowned and used his Thunder Blades to channel lightning, dispersing the dense fog.
"Pursue him!"
Glancing at where Feng Bai had been standing, Raiga stared thoughtfully at the pool of blood on the ground.
As one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, Raiga was aware of the Jinchūriki self-destruction plan, but the violent explosion earlier was clearly not part of it.
Moreover, Feng Bai's severe injuries didn't align with the planned pursuit scenario.
No word had come from the Tailed Beast's containment site, which made Raiga sense danger.
Just like the feeling that green-clad man had once given him.
That terrifying taijutsu had inflicted serious psychological and physical trauma on Kurosuki Raiga.
"Since there's no sealing squad accompanying us, I'll just assume the plan has failed!"
After weighing the pros and cons, Raiga decided to abandon the original plan—he was determined to capture that brat alive!
...
Forcing himself to move through the forest despite his body's agony, Feng Bai had no energy left to sense the Flying Thunder God kunai's location.
"I was wrong, I really was wrong! From today forward, I'll train diligently in Flying Thunder God and never slack off again."
Even while fleeing for his life, he couldn't help but lament, regretting that he hadn't taken Flying Thunder God training seriously, which had led to today's predicament.
Ducking to avoid yet another kunai shot from behind, Feng Bai reached into his ninja pouch, pulled out a shuriken, took a deep breath, and infused it with wind-attribute chakra.
"Wind Release: Shuriken!"
Compared to full ninjutsu, this method effectively conserved his already scarce chakra while still causing significant trouble for his pursuers.
To these ordinary ninja without Sharingan, Feng Bai's thrown shuriken appeared no different from regular ones.
When the first unlucky ninja lost his arm due to carelessness, the other Mist ninja realized Feng Bai's shuriken contained hidden dangers and began maintaining distance.
Seeing his intimidation tactic succeed, Feng Bai threw several more shuriken without chakra infusion.
Using this combination of real and fake attacks, Feng Bai managed to extend his survival a bit longer.
The situation was developing favorably—
Until Kurosuki Raiga made his move.
"Lightning Release: Thunder Net!"
Wide-area lightning suddenly crashed down, catching Feng Bai off-guard and striking him directly, sending him plummeting from the tree.
Adding insult to injury, several Mist ninja—as if fearing Feng Bai wouldn't die—immediately threw kunai and shuriken that landed precisely in his back, only stopping when Raiga intervened.
"Idiots! Didn't I say to capture him alive?!"
Though he said this, Raiga clearly had no intention of punishing them. Instead, he walked slowly toward Feng Bai, wary of a desperate final counterattack.
He had no choice—Feng Bai's reputation was truly formidable, and the psychological shadow Might Duy had cast over him was sufficiently deep.
"Huff... Is this the end...? I really shouldn't have been greedy for the Three-Tails. I should have escaped immediately after using Grand Barrage Technique..."
Watching Kurosuki Raiga approach, Feng Bai lacked even the strength to lift a single finger.
