Far on the outskirts of the Forbidden Forest, Harry had no idea that Vivi's brother had betrayed Vivi and even recounted the story of him and Cassandra to Newt in detail.
Right now, he had just found Pabi and looked again, noticing Hermione was bouncing around joyfully with Pabi.
One human and one Unicorn were hopping in the snow, shouting "hooray," as if performing some mysterious ritual.
To an outsider, it might seem like they were dancing the Maori war dance.
"What are you guys doing?" Harry walked over and asked.
"Jumping around!" Pabi shouted with her neck raised: "We're jumping——"
Harry used his hand like a knife and knocked on Pabi's head.
"Hey." Pabi stuck out her tongue and trotted over to Hermione, "We should go, Hermione; if we don't head back, Professor Scamander will be worried."
Hermione sighed.
"Sigh," she said, "I really envy Professor Scamander, being able to keep so many little animals..."
"Why don't you keep one?" Pabi turned her head and asked: "You can keep a safer Magical Creature in the dorm, like a Pu Rongrong or a Moonstruck Beast... Or if that's really not possible, you could do what Harry does and keep an owl, which could send letters for you in your free time."
"I don't know what to keep..." Hermione sighed again: "Maybe I should ask Professor Scamander——"
"Oh, Hermione, don't sigh," Pabi bounced as she spoke: "Do you know? Sighing lets happiness slip away..."
"Fine, I won't sigh then," Hermione smiled and said: "Let's go back together. Harry, do you want to come with us?"
Harry shaded his eyes with his hand, seeing Hagrid dragging a bundle of wood and holding another under his arm, walking out of the Forbidden Forest.
"Hagrid's coming," Harry said to the two of them: "Maybe we can go together."
With that, he waved his hand, pulled out his Magic Wand, and shouted loudly: "Hey——Hagrid!"
The amplifying charm was so loud that they could clearly see Hagrid jump, dropping his wood all over the ground with a crash.
When he bent down to pick it up, the thick snow that was pressing on the branches fell and covered his back.
After a short time, Hagrid picked up the wood again, hugged it in his arms, and walked over.
"Dear me, you really startled me, Harry." Hagrid patted his chest, still a bit shaken.
Pabi chuckled twice with her eyes bent, and with Hermione, hopped in circles on the ground.
"What are they up to?" Hagrid asked curiously.
Harry didn't speak but simply curled his index finger and tapped his temple.
This might be an internationally recognized gesture, indicating someone is not quite bright.
Hagrid nodded with an "Oh," and said to Harry: "Alright, let's head back, it's really too cold outside—come to my place, light a fire, and have some Rock Cakes, how about it?"
"Hooray!" Pabi said loudly.
As a result, Harry reached out and tapped her forehead.
"Why!" Pabi said, aggrieved.
"Mr. Leme said you can't eat, Pabi," Harry seriously grabbed Pabi's Unicorn horn, "Not only do I know about this, but I'm going to tell everyone you know so they won't feed you!"
Pabi gave Harry a sad look, even though she couldn't taste anything, she truly enjoyed the sensation of eating—although Hagrid's Rock Cakes were incredibly hard, the feeling of eating was really nice.
Let's not forget, she is a Hufflepuff.
A Hufflepuff who loves life and loves food.
"Rest assured, Pabi," Harry added, "I will definitely find a way to make you better."
"Okay!" Pabi stretched her head and rubbed her forehead against Harry's shoulder for a while.
"Miss Pabi is really close to you." Hermione said enviously from the side; it seemed she also really wanted to keep a Unicorn.
But Miss Pabi the Unicorn could talk; in her view, they should have a relationship of equals.
So she could only settle for second best and keep something small, mini, and not a sentient being.
Sitting in Hagrid's hut, Harry sent Hedwig to deliver a letter to Ron, and shortly after, Ron arrived at Hagrid's hut.
"Hermione said she wants to keep a pet," Harry said to Ron, "You might as well help her think about what would be a good choice."
Hermione spoke first: "I want to keep a cat..."
"No!" Ron said emphatically, "No cats! What if it eats my Banban? He's already so old, he shouldn't be treated like that!"
"Cats don't necessarily have to eat mice, Ron!" Hermione retorted, "They can actually eat cat food, and after getting used to cat food, they won't think about eating your Banban."
The door was suddenly pushed open.
The person who came in was Newt; he kept his head down, still in that socially awkward manner, totally incapable of handling such a big gathering.
"I need to remind you, Miss Granger," Newt said seriously, "The hunting instinct of cats is imprinted in their blood, it's their nature. They won't let small animals go just because they're full… if you decide to keep a cat, then I'd suggest Ron send his pet rat back home by post."
After speaking, Newt continued, "I've seen cats hunting small birds many times; they really shouldn't appear in such places… that's the instinct of cats, hunting is their nature."
"Then what should I keep..." Hermione said with a sigh, "I really want to have a little animal..."
