Chapter 32 - The Aurelius Family

When they were almost at the apartment, Kael sensed many monsters and people fighting in front of the building.

Kael suddenly stood, cracking his knuckles and neck before charging forward alone. "Stay here first."

"Brother Kael! Bring me along!" Liora waved, calling out.

Kael ignored her as he thought about his plan once again.

"Lizardmen?" he muttered when he saw the attackers. He halted at a distance, trying to recall something.

'Is there a dungeon break that's filled with strong lizardmen?' Kael tried to recall his memories, as he only remembered the little princess of the Aurelius family was dead on the same day when the dungeon descended.

The Aurelius family was the family who owned the Celestine Apartment and was among the richest in the country.

The reason why he wanted to go here naturally was to cooperate with her by giving her protection in exchange for some property.

Kael came back to his senses when he noticed that a lizardman was heading towards him.

Sigh!

"You ugly lizard, don't even let me think for a second. Are you really that eager to die?" Kael shook his head and vanished into thin air.

When Kael reappeared near the battlefield, the lizardman's head suddenly slid down from its neck as Kael slashed its neck a little bit diagonally.

Kael then continued making his moves one at a time, killing the lizardmen above level 20 with an extremely fast speed, surprising the others and making them become excited as they continued to restrict their opponents so that Kael would have an easier time killing them.

A minute later…

All of the lizardmen above level 20 were dead, and Kael immediately resurrected them, then put them away.

The others were taken aback when they saw something strange happen to the dead lizardmen above level 20 before they suddenly disappeared.

Kael ignored them as he went inside the building and looked around to find which one was the little princess from the Aurelius family.

After he swept the people inside the lobby, Kael's gaze finally stopped when he saw an extremely beautiful girl in a luxurious outfit.

"Are you the little princess of the Aurelius family?" Kael asked, nodding with a smile, sizing her up from head to toe. 'She's indeed a top jade beauty.'

"Who are you?" The girl asked with a frown, thinking that someone might have bad intentions towards her in this chaotic situation.

"Don't worry, I want to talk with you because I have something important to discuss with you now." Kael waved his hand dismissively and walked toward the inside. "Lead the way."

After thinking for a few seconds, the girl from the Aurelius family sighed softly before starting to walk toward Kael.

"Young Miss, let me accompany you," a woman in her late twenties said, following.

"Okay," the girl answered with a rueful smile.

The others started to gossip among themselves, talking about what was the strong young man's purpose.

"Let's find a quiet place. Don't need to go somewhere far." Kael said, then looked at the woman in her late twenties. "Who's she?"

"She's my personal maid." The girl replied.

"I see." Kael nodded and chased her away. "You can go."

The girl was stunned and waved her hand, ordering her maid to go.

"B-but, what if…"

Before the maid could finish her sentence, the girl interrupted her with a cold expression. "Go!"

The maid then could only go back to the lobby since the young miss had said so.

After they arrived in a quiet dining area, they sat in a corner and looked at each other for a few seconds before Kael coughed lightly.

Cough!

"I'm Kael, as you can see." Kael pointed at his name and level above his head as he showed it to the girl, which surprised her since she had never expected that Kael hadn't even reached 1st Echelon Rank yet.

With his monstrous strength, she naturally thought that Kael was at least a 1st Echelon Rank Awakener.

The reason why she thought so was because she wasn't even a level 1 player, and normal people couldn't see the other's simple information unless their levels were above the target.

"I'm Selene, as you already know." Selene smiled gracefully.

"Alright, let's cut to the chase since I'm busy now." Kael nodded and explained why he wanted to meet her.

"You do realize that the situation at the moment is really chaotic, right?" Kael smiled.

"Of course." Selene smiled bitterly as she was basically trapped in this place at the moment.

"So, I'm here to offer you a protection service. With my current strength, I can't promise you something grand, but I'm confident I can keep you alive unless the enemy is at 2nd Echelon Rank." Kael explained with a slight smile.

Selene frowned and thought for a few seconds before asking Kael with a vigilant expression. "Are you sure? Do you know that there's a huge difference between each rank?"

"Of course! I've even met one on the way here." Kael answered with a chuckle.

Selene deepened her frown when she heard it, as she thought that she had met a con artist.

"What? You don't believe me? Look at this." Kael sneered and showedother piece of information above his head, which was the immortality lord class.

When she looked at the new information Kael showed to her, she was confused for a few seconds before slamming the table and standing up. "What?! Y—"

"Ssssh." Kael covered her mouth and put a finger on his lips, telling her to not talk about it.

Kael was extremely careful now since Kael couldn't take the risk that someone might have a skill or talent to enhance their hearing sense.

That's why he had always spoken in an ambiguous way.

"Now you know why I'm confident, right?" Kael chuckled, removing his hand slowly, and sat again.

Selene nodded her head eagerly while looking at Kael with an admiring expression.

Sigh!

'My charisma indeed couldn't be overlooked.' Kael sighed softly as he thought that he needed to restrain himself more in the future, afraid that people would admire him everywhere he went since it could only lead to countless problems instead.

If Laura knew what Kael was thinking at the moment, she would definitely smack her son.

"Let me remind you to not tell this to everyone else. Otherwise, you would definitely be the first person I'd find at that time." Kael spoke with a serious expression this time.

After thinking about it for a few seconds, Kael continued. "Well, you can tell your dad, but under one condition: you can only let him know by meeting me in person in case there are people with a skill that could overhear things."

Selene raised her eyebrows and nodded her head obediently like a kid.

"Now, let's talk about the real business." Kael smiled satisfiedly, then continued as he tapped his fingers on the table in rhythm. "Now that you somewhat know my capability, what can you offer in exchange for your safety at the moment?"

"Before you give me an offer, let me tell you about some things first."

Kael raised one finger. "Do remember that I'm the future strongest awakener in this world. My strength and potential speak for it."

Raising another finger, Kael continued. "Not only that, I can also help your father to become the next family head of the Aurelius Family. If you don't believe me, inform all of your uncles and aunties about me, and I bet with my neck on the line that they would try their best to recruit me."

"As for the reason why I chose to help you and your dad? It's simple, I could basically help whoever that is to become the next family head of the Aurelius family. So, it actually doesn't matter to me who I wanted to give my support to." Kael chuckled, saying it casually as if it was a simple matter for him to make someone become the next family head of the Aurelius Family.

"As for why I chose you and your dad? Simple: I could help anyone become the next family head. You're just the closest. Others might even offer better deals than your father—especially you, who are practically powerless in the family hierarchy." He smiled, pointing at Selene.
