Chapter 103 - 61. Indulge (Part 1)

Lin Wan opened the wardrobe, roughly grabbing a shirt and trying to tear it apart. However, the fabric was too good to tear, so she instinctively resorted to biting it, but that didn't work either. Frustrated, she threw the shirt onto the floor, stomped on the hem, grabbed the sleeves with both hands, and yanked hard. With a ripping sound, the sleeve came off…

The moment Chen Jin saw Lin Wan's actions, the fleeting thoughts of desire in his mind were immediately replaced by a series of exclamation marks. He even forgot to stop her. Then, seeing her furious expression, he found it amusing. It had been so long since he had seen such a lively and angry Lin Wan. But then he realized that this kind of behavior would be embarrassing for him. He quickly reminded himself that she had slapped him before, and a few clothes didn't matter in comparison.

Lin Wan destroyed one shirt and, still unsatisfied, was about to repeat the same with another. Chen Jin, seeing how hard she was struggling with it, handed her the Swiss Army knife he always carried and said, "Use this."

She took it, opened it, and slashed at the front of the shirt with the blade. Chen Jin finally began to feel uneasy. It felt as though she was slashing at his chest. Did she really hate him this much? He endured it in silence. After Lin Wan had torn through several shirts, she tossed the knife aside, grabbed all the shirts and suits from his closet, and threw them onto the floor. She kicked and stomped on them like trash. Chen Jin stood there, dumbfounded, a surge of anger rising from deep within him. But what came out of his mouth was, "At least leave me one shirt for tomorrow. You can't expect me to go around naked, can you?"

The moment the words left his mouth, Chen Jin almost choked on his own words, silently giving himself a mental high five for his quick thinking. But when he saw Lin Wan's face turn red from the exertion, he was relieved that he hadn't lost his temper. He coughed a couple of times and said, "Had enough? Take a break, you're clearly tired."

Lin Wan didn't look up, replying without a care, "Not enough."

Chen Jin spread his hands, "Fine, keep going."

Lin Wan immediately turned to leave, but she tripped over the clothes on the floor. Chen Jin quickly stood up and grabbed her, asking, "Where are you going? Not going to continue?"

Lin Wan pushed him away and ran out of the bedroom, heading straight for the study. Chen Jin followed and saw her glaring at her computer screen. His eyelids twitched, and he hesitated before asking, "You're not planning to smash my computer, are you?"

"Why not?" Lin Wan answered coldly.

Chen Jin was taken aback, thinking to himself, Is this really happening? He wanted to stop her, but then a thought crossed his mind and he smirked, saying casually, "Fine, go ahead, but I'll need a backup first."

Lin Wan huffed and then turned her attention to the bookshelf behind her. Before Chen Jin could react, she grabbed two books from the shelf and threw them to the ground. The thud of them landing made Chen Jin furrow his brows. She threw a few more books, and he took a half-step back, no longer bothered by it. Fine, let her have her tantrum. But reorganizing this shelf later will be a pain.

Little did he know, the situation was about to get more complicated. After throwing about twenty books, Lin Wan, seeing that Chen Jin wasn't paying attention, quickly grabbed the water cup from the desk and hurled it at the monitor. With a sharp crack, the screen shattered, and the ceramic cup rolled to the floor. Chen Jin's face darkened instantly as he harshly said, "That's enough."

Before he could finish his sentence, his gaze was drawn to something on the floor. He quickly walked over and bent down to pick it up. Lin Wan instinctively tried to stop him but couldn't reach him in time. She stepped on his hand, and Chen Jin, seeing her foot on his hand, felt his frustration boil over. He couldn't hold it in anymore, swearing, "Damn, are you really going to push me this far? You…"

He raised his head to see Lin Wan looking down at him with a fire of anger in her eyes. His words died in his throat as he realized with surprise that Lin Wan, the one he had been worried about, had returned. His expression softened, and he helplessly said, "Come on, lift your foot. Doesn't that hurt?"

Lin Wan raised her foot and reached out her hand. Chen Jin sighed, taking the thin, torn paper he had been holding in his hand, and handed it to her. She looked at it, her face blanking for a moment, before realizing it was a photo of her from when she was five, the one she had kept in her wallet all these years.

Chen Jin leaned back on the bed, looking at the mess of books scattered around. He couldn't help but think, She's really like a little bandit. He casually said, "You were much cuter as a child."

To his surprise, those words triggered Lin Wan. Her face changed in an instant, and she ripped the photo in half with a swift motion. Chen Jin was stunned and shouted angrily, "Are you crazy?"

Lin Wan froze, then suddenly smiled, whispering to herself, "Yeah, I'm crazy. I'm crazy." Her legs gave way, and she collapsed onto the floor. Chen Jin, alarmed, quickly rushed over, not caring about the photo anymore, and embraced her. "Wan Wan, I didn't mean it. Don't take it to heart."

Lin Wan, losing control, began to cry uncontrollably, sobbing like a child who had been wronged. Chen Jin tried to comfort her, but when nothing worked, he just held her and let her cry. He took tissues and gently wiped her tears and runny nose. Once her sobs started to subside, he gently ran his fingers through her hair, speaking softly, "Wan Wan, I know it hurts inside, so take it out on me. You can break anything in this room, as long as it helps you feel better."

He picked up the photo that had been torn in half, carefully put it back together, and said, "But don't destroy your own things. You see? Such a nice photo, it's such a shame to tear it. You can't put it back together now."

Lin Wan immediately slapped his hand away, angrily saying, "It's not good. I'm not cute."

"Who said that? You're the prettiest little girl I've ever seen," Chen Jin replied with a smile.

He tried to pick up the photo again, but Lin Wan swatted it away. With a tearful voice, she asked, "If I'm so cute, why did they all leave me?"

Chen Jin's heart stopped for a beat. He took a deep breath and gently said, "They didn't leave you. No parent ever stops loving their child…"

Hearing the cold huff from Lin Wan, he continued, "I believe your parents love you, but when we're young, we often get blinded by things that don't matter and overlook what's truly precious. I'm sure they never meant to hurt you. When they realized what they did, they couldn't face you…"

Lin Wan sniffled, still crying. Chen Jin, feeling his heart ache, said softly, "I'm not making excuses for them. What's done is done. I just hope you can open your heart. You're so beautiful, and you deserve love. Anyone who's ever hurt you will regret it…"

Lin Wan's sobs grew louder. She choked out, "I'm just unlucky."

Chen Jin's heart tightened at the sound of her words. He feigned anger, "Who says that? Anyone who dares say you're unlucky, I'll make them pay."

Lin Wan looked up at him, tears streaming down her face, accusing him, "Why did I meet you?"
