Chapter 65 - The Anchoring

I couldn't hold onto who I was. My mother's loneliness kept flooding back. Her death. Her love. Her final moments experienced from inside her consciousness.

I don't know who I am.

"You're Haven." Astro's voice kept repeating it. "You're the wolf who integrated. Who carries light. Who broke three trials. You're real. You're here."

But the words didn't stick. Couldn't penetrate the fractured mess my consciousness had become.

I was Haven. I was my mother. I was both. I was neither. Just fragments bleeding together. Just perspectives piled on top of each other until nothing remained that felt like me.

My luminous form flickered violently. The light inside destabilizing. The integration I'd fought so hard to achieve coming apart because I couldn't maintain boundaries between self and other.

"Verbal anchoring isn't working." Astro's voice changed. Became decisive. "The maze has fractured you too deeply. I need to use something stronger."
